Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I think the martini bar might be an add on...

I know this was brought up a couple of pages ago, but I did not have to tip the captain. At my final meeting they reminded me that I should tip the Bridal Attendant and Banquet manager. Mine were awesome I wish I could tip them like 100x what we did. I sort of requested them...Bridal Attendant was Megan, and my Banquet manager was Karen.

as a side note, placecard are placecards....No one really looks at them. On the other hand my placecard voitive were really easy to do. and not that expensive at all. I think $.50 for the candle holder, and some votive paper.

I didn't really read the time postings, but they might be different based on your rooms.

**and to the girls who were sad about not getting extras....I didn't get any either! I was told that the free room at the inn was usually if your wedding was during the 'off season'

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Girls just ask questions it seems that different brides had to pay for different things. It might also depend on your room. I had a large wedding in the Garden Terrace I was just speaking to another bride who also had a large wedding in Garden Terrance and we both had Captains. This might be an extra for larger weddings. I got a free room next door I was told that if you get married in Jan-Feb-or March and or a Sunday that they usually give you the room. If it is not in your contract, when you go to speak to them tell them that you where told that you get it and fight for it. They will usually give it to you especially if you are getting married in an off month.

Interesting!!!!!

Okay - so who wants to go and get cakes?!??!?! If it's in Bethpage - i can offer my parents house to stop at and try them! They live in Lindenhurst...but it'd have to be a weekend - since i live in jersey...

Can we maybe do the 6th of October? I'll be out there for the '08 shower anyway!!!!!

I am not going to the 08 shower :( but would love to meet up with some of you at the bakery! We can just buy some cakes and eat them up!!!!!!! How much fun would that be?? Who wants Cake FOR LUNCH???

(Anyone remember that OLLLLLD Bill Cosby skit,
'Dad is great .. he gives us chocolate cake ..' and then his wife screams 'You gave them chocolate ckae FOR BREAKFAST???' I am cracking up just thinking about it!)

I HATE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I read this about 20 minutes ago...and the entire time since i have been singing, dad is great, he gave us chocolate cake...and it's not going away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Awww ... sorry love .... Good thing I know you are kidding about that HATE thing ....

i didn't get anything 'thrown in' either, which is why i am going to bring up some of the extra's at our next meeting at the FH.

THe last time i met with my BM i asked about getting chair covers thrown in since another bride on here said she got them. The BM said no, so i asked how come certain people get things thrown in while others dont. HE told me that i should have discussed this when i was signing the contract and all of these extras woudl have been rolled into the price. So my interpretation is that they increase the price and make it seem like they are throwing things in when they really arent.

Its worth a shot askign at your next meeting, but i just wanted to let you knwo what they said to me when i brought this up. mAybe you will have better luck

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

that does make sense
i mean, once you sign a contrace, that is what youre signing for
but i guess i should have negotiated better but its hard to ask for 'extras' if you dont know what they offer

definitely - once you have signed a contract - all bets are off i guess...but if we knew what to ask for...

maybe this can at least help FUTURE brides!!!

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

New question:

Does anyone know if we can take pictures in the Inn if we are staying there that night (or even if you aren't)? I am getting married in the WGP and the room that's open to me for pics is the studio on that side of the building -- and I personally HATE it. It's boring, ugly and has no character, in my opinion. So, I asked, can I take photos in the WGP before the ceremony if the weather's bad? They said yes. But, I just thought today, maybe there is a nice area in the Inn? Would they allow that? Does anyone know if they have a nice courtyard, waiting area, living room, anything? Is this even something I'd want to do, basically?

(PS: I am hoping that I can 'check in' to my hotel room early .. our wedding begins at 1 and we will be taking pics starting at 11 or so, but I would like to check in before the wedding ... so maybe my room would be a possibility for posed pics, but I can't imagine the rooms are THAT nice. I will not be getting ready in the room, FH might. )

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

Ok, another question. Should have remembered this before but I am forgetting a lot of things lately

I know they charge $100 if you want flowers added to your cake. If I want my cake topper to be made out of flowers, I can just give them to them the day of and have my maitre d add it to the cake then, right, for no charge? I love the way it looks with the flowers but don't want to spend the money.

And similarly ... My sister is a baker, and I may even ask her to add a bunch of fresh flowers to the cake that day ... to make it look like the ones in their book with the flowers but so that I don't have to pay the $100 for it ... she could do it just as nice as the bakery if not nicer ... anyone know if this would be ok?

Re: FOX HOLLOW BRIDES - Question & Answer Thread

I asked the Inn about taking photos and they said it's no problem EXCEPT - they aren't going to close off the lobby for you or anything.

So if you just want to snap a few pics, it should be no problem. But I wouldnt' plan on taking every photo there - also if you have guests checking in, they might see you taking the photos - not sure if you care about this or not, but for some people, it might take away from the big reveal moment.

I am planning on taking a few there and hopefully arranging for a nice shot when FH sees me for the first time in the lobby before we board the limo to go to OWG.

I took some photos in the Inn. Some in the room, some in the lobby. In my review and my album the pictures on the stairs/with stairs are from the Inn. Also the solo ones of me are in the room. I called the night before to see if I could check in early the day of my wedding. They said as long as no one was in my room I could get in early. (I reminded them that my wedding was next door).

They were very accomadating about getting me into the room.
