Pop superstar MADONNA has angrily hit back at rumours her five-year marriage to GUY RITCHIE is in trouble.

The HUNG UP hitmaker, who uncharacteristically cancelled her performance at the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France, on Saturday (21JAN06), has been dogged by speculation about her relationship with the 37-year-old director in recent weeks.

The New York Daily News recently claimed, 'The couple have split but they're keeping it quiet.'

However, the singer's spokeswoman LIZ ROSENBERG insists their relationship is as strong as ever, revealing Ritchie and children LOURDES and ROCCO last week (ends20JAN06) visited Madonna on the London set of her new video SORRY.

She says, 'Guy came on the set to visit. Mr and Mrs Ritchie seemed comfortable and adoring of each other.

'My sense is that they're quite a happy, content couple.'

Yesterday, we heard that Jude Law had dumped Sienna Miller, but might it have been the other way around? The Awful Truth is saying that it was Sienna Miller who sent Jude Law packing. And for none other than her Factory Girl co-star, Hayden Christensen. Yes, you heard right.

She dumped Jude the second Hayden came around. Gave him his walking papers! It was so cold. It's all about opportunity. She's just moving on to who's going to give her more publicity. Jude can't do that anymore.
Well, she certainly does know how to make the publicity machine work for her. Could it be that Sienna Miller and Hayden Christensen are dating? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

How's this for B-list logic: Britney Spears stole away Shar Jackson's babies' daddy, Kevin Federline, so Jackson has struck back by sleeping with Spears' ex-husband, Jason Alexander. Jackson showed up at the 25th-birthday party for singer Ray J, Brandy's younger brother, in L.A. Saturday night with Spears' redneck ex-hubby in tow. A spy says, 'They made out all night before going upstairs to the off-limits bedroom area of the house.' The rumpled duo rejoined the party an hour later, we hear - much to the surprise of Brandy and her new beau, Nick Cannon. A rep for Jackson declined comment.

The two biggest questions rap fans want answered right now are: What does Jay-Z think about Cam'ron coming at him on wax? And now that Nas is on Def Jam, how do God's Son and Hova plan to smash the rap game?

First things first — Cam is holding a press conference Wednesday (January 25) in New York to discuss what the streets are calling his 'beef' with Hova. As for Killa Cam's 'You Got It' dis record (see 'Cam'ron Attacks Jay-Z With Dis Track 'You Got It' '), Jay said he's not sure he'll respond with his own dis record. Jigga said he's never had any problems with Cam, though he admits the two never bonded while Cam was on Roc-A-Fella.

'My thing is, it's such an obvious ploy for attention and to get people to talk about it and for [Cam to] sell albums,' Jay said Tuesday, speaking to MTV News from a company retreat.

Even though Jay says he knows Cam's master plan, he's conflicted. On one hand he feels he's too big to stoop to Cam's level, but on the other hand, the MC in him is itching to retort with battle raps.

'I'm torn,' he admitted. 'I feel like I would be stupid to even pay that any attention, because it's such a ploy. ... N---as is holding press conferences behind [the dis record]. The MC in me is like, 'That's too easy [to come back at him.]' That's not even a good dis record. That
sh-- is trash. I'm torn. We'll see what happens. Maybe on my time we'll deal with it, but I'm not really pressed. I'm inspired by good artistic sh--. Cam's sh-- is not artistic. There's nothing good about it. Everything about it is an obvious ploy to get attention. Nobody wants to get used. You're just using me. Of course he had to go that far.'

One of the brow-raisers in Cam's song comes at the beginning, when he says part of his disdain for Hov came about because Jay had wronged former partner Dame Dash in their business dealings. Speaking to New York radio station WQHT-FM, Cam also said Dame had tipped him off that Jay would be coming at him during last year's 'I Declare War' concert (the show turned out to be all about peace; see 'Jay-Z And Nas Put Beef To Sleep In Onstage Show Of Unity').

Jay called Dame's involvement in the equation 'shocking' and said he hasn't spoken with his once close friend about Cam and has no plans to. 'To be honest with you, that's the most surprising thing,' Jay said calmly. 'I'm still in shock, to be honest with you.'

No one was really surprised this week when it was announced that Nas had signed to Def Jam (see 'Nas Signs With Jay-Z, According To Report'). The two had been in talks for a while and performed two nights of shows in October. Hov said there probably will not be a Jay and Nas album, but he does expect to do at least a song with Nas.

'I'm guessing like September, fall, so we can do it right,' Jay said of when he expects Nas' LP to drop. Nas has been recording material for months, but Hov thinks he'll start fresh with his new deal in place. 'I didn't hear the stuff he did before, but I'm guessing it'll be a new slate.'

Jay added that he hopes Nas will connect with some of the best producers in the game, such as Kanye West, DJ Premier, Just Blaze, Dr. Dre, Timbaland and Pharrell Williams, though he hasn't ruled out Nas teaming with some up-and-coming beatmakers. He said his former rival is in such a great headspace, he wouldn't be surprised if Nas made the best album of career.

'[I'm proud to have him on Def Jam] for so many different levels,' he said. 'One, he's been at the forefront of hip-hop since he's been out. [Illmatic] is arguably one of the best albums ever made. To have that down with the team, it's just a beautiful thing. Two, it says so much about the culture. It shows another way. [The media] always portrays us like we're ignorant. It shows another ending. I think it's bigger for the culture.'

While the Nas album isn't due for several months, Jay is so excited about the albums coming out on Def Jam this year — including Ghostface Killah and LL Cool J — he contemplated dropping an album himself, but he's since rethought it and will continue to play the executive role.

And it's a part he's been playing to the fullest. Jay's team is on the brink of adding one or two more major players, but it's too early to name names, he said.

The 'Tomb Raider' star, who has seven tattoos in all, flashed it to passers by as she arrived at London's Heathrow Airport last night (1.24.06) with lover Brad Pitt and her adopted children.

The latin motto, 'Quod me nutrit me destruit' means 'What nourishes me also destroys me'.

The phrase recently hit the headlines after it was adopted by some pro-anorexia and bulimia websites.

Sexy mum-to-be Jolie got the tattoo in 1997, but usually covers it up with make-up when cameras are around.

Although this will be the couple's first child together, Pitt recently became the legal guardian of Jolie's adoptive kids.

The 'Oceans 12' hunk was granted parental rights to the children, four-year-old Maddox and baby Zahara, by Judge Linda Lefkowitz last week.

Jolie announced she was expecting Pitt's child earlier this month.

Rumours are now rife the screen beauty is pregnant with twins.

It is alleged the 30-year-old actress is expecting two babies after having fertility treatment.

Actress BROOKE SHIELDS announced today that she and husband CHRIS HENCHY are due to give birth to a baby girl, according to People magazine. The 40-year-old star's baby is due in May. She and Henchy, who wed in 2001, have a daughter, ROWAN, who is two years old.

Brooke made headlines last year when she bravely stepped forward to talk about the postpartum depression she experienced after giving birth to Rowan. The former model and TV star also engaged in a war of words with actor TOM CRUISE over the issue of taking prescription medication for postpartum depression.

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit actress Mariska Hargitay will be taking a maternity break from her show but assures fans about her pregnancy: 'I'm LOVING every minute of it and am so excited to be a mom.'

Hargitay, 42, who plays NYPD Det. Olivia Benson on the NBC series, writes in her online blog: 'Not sure if you've heard, but the producers have decided not to make Olivia pregnant, so I won't be in a few episodes. But don't worry, the writers are working on some really great story lines, and there will be a special guest star filling in for me.'

For Hargitay and her husband, Peter Hermann, this will be their first child together. Earlier this week, the New York Post reported that the arrival will be a boy.

The couple met on the show, where Hermann, 38, has a recurring role. They wed in Santa Barbara, Calif. in August 2004 in front of 200 guests.

'They're mad about each other,' wedding planner Yifat Oren, told PEOPLE at the time. 'And they're hilariously funny together.'

Hargitay's mother is blonde bombshell Jayne Mansfield, who died in a 1967 car crash at age 34. Her father is Hungarian bodybuilder Mickey Hargitay, 80, a former Mr. Universe.
