has anyone done a menu tasting with JT? Rob says they don't do them but the times I've been there, I remember seeing couples being offered plates of food to try.
thanks!
Sorry this response to your question is a little late, we actually got food to try the first time we went to meet with them, before we booked, just a plate of antipasta and a bowl of pasta.
We also got a regular food tasting with all the courses, but we had to ask a few times for it, we insisted and we got one.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
When I first booked in March,,I was with my maid of honor. Chad is my BM,, and he had the waitors bring us in platters of food along with apple martinis! At the bridal expo in March is where I tasted most of the food,, but mostly appetizers and desserts,,I wanna go back and taste some things off of the dinner menu though!

Rob was my BM too and when i first asked him about a food tasting he said they usually dont do them because their food is so good that you shouldnt need to question it. whatever...i told him i would feel more comfortable having one and to please schedule it for me. he did and the food was great! just tell him you want one and that's that!

I'm in the penthouse my FH an I fell in love with that room instantly! I'm a little nervous though because I keep hearing that you can hear the music from the other weddings. Chad assured us this won't happen. Do you think we should try to change our room?

Is anyone that is having their ceremony there using the clergy? Chad said we could but do you have to set up an appoinment for that and does anyone have a suggestion on who to use?

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
I used the Father Brenan from JT for my ceremony. I didn't have to have an appointment, I just called him and told him I was referred by JT. He was flexible and did a great job. You can read more in my review.Review

I asked Rob for a tasting and he insisted they don't do them. He said if we came in on a weekend, he could bring us some of what the kitchen had already prepared for another wedding but he couldn't specifically make us anything. I must have gotten JT confused with Chateau La Mer who I remember told us we could bring up to 6 ppl for a tasting that was sure to leave us full for days.
What was your tasting with JT like? THANKS!

I would call your BM regarding your question about switching to a different room. There is a very good chance that all of the rooms are booked, especially for May. I was in the Oak Room and we couldn't hear anything from the other rooms! Also, our ceremony was in the Skylight room and it was soundless in there as well.
Regarding the tasting, I called my BM (Mike Closs) and asked him to schedule it for a certain day because I was planning our wedding from out of state. We had a WONDERFUL meal and Mike took care of every small detail. The food was fantastic. I am getting hungry just thinking about it.
The best piece of advice I could give you would be to get to know your BM very well and make sure to COMMUNICATE. The more they understand what you want / don't want, the better your day will be.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
We had no problems with our cake, however about your concern with the noise issues:We had the option of having our ceremony in either the Oak Room or the Penthouse. The kicker was there were parties going on in the Dome Room & the Skylight Room. I had a friend do a 'sound check' the week before my wedding because the set up was going to be the same. They told me you can definitely hear the noise in the Penthouse from the Dome Room (only a concern if it's for a ceremony) and there was no noise in the Oak Room.
If you're worried about noise issues during your reception, I wouldn't sweat it. But if you're talking about your ceremony, I would definitely look into it.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
I had slight problems with my cake. In the overall scheme of things, I wouldn't say it was a big deal but it wasn't exactly what I wanted either. Here is a pic of my cake
Here is a pic of what I wanted my cake to look like
I didn't like that my flowers and ribbon didn't match (or even close!!)
Also, I didn't like the nuts they put on it. I never asked for that. BUT the cake tasted WONDERFUL!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
o dear! superkat, did you speak to dortoni directly? i think the ribbons and the flowers don't go too bad with the color but i don't quite get the nuts - may to add some deco? hmmm.... at least the cake tasted good though - that's awesome~i guess with all the brides JT's dealt with, most of us are maybe just another face.
digression: i wonder if that's really the sentiment of the whole wedding industry...
ok, enough of the digression~incidentally, my event planner francesca emailed me this morning regarding my post here!!
apparently someone forwarded it along.... in any event - such a professional - i am beginning to like her
and she is in fact the owner of dazzling affairs!
francesca's great! she's been emailing me about my concerns and trying to put them to rest.
and gotta say, i *am* a difficult gal to deal with
so pretty cool stuff! will definitely keep everyone informed of how things go
superkat, thanks so much for your help and support

I am posting these picturs so brides can see how beautiful Jericho Terrace is outside at night. I took these pics last night at the showcase there.I was worried b/c at the time of year I am getting married the sunset will be earlier and I will not be able to get to Jericho Terrace until about 6:00PM.
Here are the pics!!
Enjoy ladies!
