Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
i was there last week to see my BM and he showed me the skylight room again because they had changed all of the windows and wanted to show me. there was a room set up for a wedding already and they had menus on each plate. i asked if JT did them and he said no the bride did. maybe he didn't remember that i had the deluxe menu. i'll have to ask about the menus again.

What did they do different to the windows? I'm having our ceremony in the Skylight room & I didn't know anything about this. Are there any pictures of it changed? I hope it still looks good.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
I have my appointment to finalize the menu on Thursday...What do I need to bring with me? I spoke with Rob (my BM) and he said to just bring our copy of the menu that they gave us when we booked. I know there's got to be more stuff I should bring.
Please help! I'm clueless and stressed out!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Don't stress!! For the menu appointment you only need to know what choices you want for cocktail hour..they will supply the rest of the paperwork, such as what you are going to bring for your final appointment, like favors and stuff...they will also give you table sheets to write all the names of your guests and then what table they're in...by far this is not your last meeting so don't worry...whatever you forget for your menu appointment you can definitely go over with your maitre d...we went back like 3-4 times after our menu appt, and our menu appt was 10 days before our wedding, so you have plenty of time!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
I just met with Anna tonight to finalize the menu and she was awesome! i was so nervous that i was forgetting something but she put my mind at ease and went over everything completely! and she was hilarious too!!!
she told me that i would hear from my maitre'd in the next few days to book the final appt to bring my boxes, payment, etc. and guess what...when i got home he called me and left me a voicemail already reminding me to make my appt!!! so efficient over there!!!
rating for JT so far is a 10!!!! 30 more days to go...

Hey girls! I don't know if this has been asked before, but:Since the maitre de and the banquet manager are different people, do you we also need to give a tip to our banquet manager? Did any of you do this? If so, how much did you give?
Much thanks...

We didn't tip our BM, even though we loved him!!! I think they get a cut of the total cost of the wedding, so I'm pretty sure there's no need to tip.
Now if your BM is also your Maitre'D, then that is a different story!!!
BTW the review is finally up with loads of pics of the Oak Room!!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Hey girls...Just thought I'd post because I had my semi-final appointment last Thursday and left feeling less than happy, so I guess I just need some re-assurance from my fellow JT brides. Let me preface this by saying that I apologize if I sound like a total bridezilla...
A couple of things that irritated me...
Why do they even bother giving you a banquet manager if you never meet with them after booking? We saw Rob leaving when we got there, and then had to meet with Anna...Now we have to have our final appointment with the Maitre D. I just found it annoying that I need to repeat myself over and over again, and it concerns me that there's a lack of continuity in terms of the people you have to deal with throughout the planning process.
Anna also really just rubbed me the wrong way. She asked me three (maybe 4...FH insists it was only 3, but I think it was 4) times whether we had a band or a DJ. We had our menu selections all picked out and she basically took the papers out of my hands and started crossing things off saying, 'Oh, you don't want that...Do this instead.' Now, I'm open to suggestions, but we picked menu items that we genuinely thought our guests would like, and she completely shot us down right off the bat. She also somehow strong-armed us into doing the pasta course instead of the sorbet. I honestly don't know how this happened, but suddenly 'pasta' was circled on the sheet (I still might call and change this).
I just felt like she was a total used car salesman, and didn't listen to a word I said. FH and I are really particular about not wanting the fruit cravings, the ice carvings, the chamgpagne march, and some other things. I asked her to add it to the contract that these couple of things were not to be done for our wedding, and she basically started arguing with me about why we didn't want those things. She kept saying she couldn't understand why someone wouldn't want those things and pressing me, 'But WHY don't you want that?' I feel bad about this now, but I finally snapped at her and told her I thought they were tacky. (Now, I know a lot of people love this stuff, it's just not my style...so I mean no offense here). I had to ask her twice to write it on the checklist.
After we finished with the menu, we went to look at the Dome Room, and I asked if they could remove the little platform that the sweetheart table sits on. She said, 'Well it is removeable, but we never move it. You should leave it because your guests need to see you.' I told her again that I really didn't like the idea of being on a platform and she said, 'Well this is a pretty toned down platform, most places will have you sitting much higher than this.' (Ok.....I DON'T CARE IF THIS IS 'TONED DOWN' I STILL DON'T WANT IT!!!!) I said (AGAIN) that I didn't feel comfortable sitting on a stage while I eat, and she sort of laughed and said (and I QUOTE) 'Don't worry, you won't have time to eat.' (Now, I know that this happens to a lot of couples, but I thought it was incredibly rude of her to cut me off like that.) At this point I basically just gave up and plan on calling Rob to see if he can add all this stuff (which irritates me to no end since now I need to repeat myself again after I already drove to NY to say it once).
When we asked her about chair rentals (I really wanted to get the gold chivari chairs), she kept pushing the chair covers on us. I told her that I didn't really like their chair covers (again...no offense here...just not my style), and we again got into a pi$$ing match over this. 'But WHY don't you like them?' she kept asking. She kept telling me how much more expensive it would be if I brought in my own chair covers because I'd have to pay for set-up (even though this was a totally moot point because I never wanted chair covers-the ones that belong to JT or otherwise- in the first place). I finally got her to understand that I wanted to do the chivari chairs, and she said that that's never been done before (which I find really hard to believe) and that I would need special approval from Rob in order to do this (well then why did Rob tell me to bring this up at my semi-final appointment when I called and asked about it two months ago!?!?!?
She also told us that they suggest we tip the Maitre D $5 per person and said that this is the 'average.' I have been under the impression from all of the tipping posts that $3-4 is the average per person (I have heard anywhere from $2-5 on here). She said that this covers the Maitre D, the chef and some of the other staff. I asked specifically if this covered the waiters/valets/bathroom attendants/bartenders, etc, and she said that it doesn't. So I asked her if this means that I need to individually tip the wait staff and she said that it does. My parents, FH, and I all left our original appointment with them thinking that the 18% that they tack on the bill covers the tips for the staff (excluding the Maitre D), but that money all apparently goes directly to JT. I really don't think we somehow misunderstood because all 4 of us were under that impression which leads me to believe that Rob misled us intentionally. I really need some feedback on what to tip everyone, so I'm hoping you ladies can help me out!!!!
Anyway, needless to say, I left feeling really upset and nervous about the day. I can't go back for the appointment with the Maitre D because I live in Boston and will be busy wrapping stuff up at work in the weeks before the wedding. My parents are going to that meeting, and I am so not confident that everything is going to be right the day of the wedding. I am kind of at the point where I am letting it go because the fact is that I am getting married, and it will be great regardless of what JT does. Of course, on the other side of the coin, we're paying all this money, and I want it to be perfect. Most of all, I'm upset about my choice of JT right now.
Thanks for listening....
