Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Yes, you can have a rehearsal. That is what we are doing. A short rehearsal and then dinner elsewhere for the BP and close OOT family. Call your banquet manager to set it up.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Oooohhhh, Glinda_Goodwitch thank you sooooo much for your response. I was starting to think that I was coo-coo. I know all I have to do is walk down the aisle, but I still would feel better if I knew what order things will be in. I think it would just make me feel more comfortable knowing ok, now the pastor speaks, now the unity candle, now the rabbi, then my cousin does her reading, now the vows.........That kind of stuff. I just didn't want to feel like I was looking around to see what was coming up next. I've been to 9 weddings now, and I know how things go, but it's just for my own peace of mind. Thanks for the comments everyone! Just another reason why I love this site!!!!

I have similar questions as Noonie. I will be traveling from Texas for the wedding and my party won't arrive until Friday. JT told me I couldn't have a rehearsal on Friday or Saturday because they will have weddings going on. Please FM me if you have recommendations!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Okay girls, I have a question. I know the oblong tables at JT tend to hold 10-12 people. My question is: do the round tables hold 8-10 then? For those of you that had round, were 10 people per table crowded, or just right? Thanks!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

I know I posted this before, but not on this thread. I was wondering how far before the wedding are you supposed to meet with the wedding coordinator to go over the menu, pick your cake and go over all the details? FH said someone told him not until very close to the wedding. It feels like I should be doing this soon. Anyone know?

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

It's about 6 weeks before. Supposedly you get something in the mail beforehand to remind you. However, we have yet to get anything in the mail, so I just called up to make our appt, and they scheduled it for March 21st.

I might be dealing with her this week when we go on Tuesday to start going over our menu, which will now be a PITA!!!

Someone who was not paying attention, sent us the wrong menu to review in the mail!!! They sent us the basic wedding package menu when we're paying for the deluxe menu!!! So now we have to go by the contract and what's in the folder than what they sent us. Ugh!!!

FH will now be looking at me as if I'm a biatch when I tell them that since they screwed up in sending the wrong menu, I now want EVERYTHING in writing as to what we're having!!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

We had Anna do our menu too, and left there feeling overwhelmed. It was certainly not the same treatment we had received from Mike Closs, our BM.

You just have to put this one meeting into perspective, cause it's the only time you'll see her.

I would have L O V E D to have dealt with Mike, but from what Anna told us, 'the BM don't do that anymore' I don't know how true that was. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I'll let you know who we meet with when we go later on today to go over our menu. I know I spoke to Anna when I scheduled the appointment, but she told me we would be going over the menu with the head chef I believe??

Ah, I'll know for sure later on.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

We went last night and actually went over our menu with our BM which made us very happy and relieved!!!

Here's what we learned thus far:

1. You can change things on the cocktail hour. We took out another 3 things and replaced them with things people will actually eat!! Granted he said these were things on the Sweet 16 menu, but I would prefer pigs in blankets over stuffed mushrooms any day of the week!!!

2. Ganache and Fondant are more money if you want them on your wedding cake. So we went with whipped cream.

3. They can supply the following: Chuppah / canopy, clergy, Kosher wine, glass or light bulb for breaking, challah, champagne glasses for toast, cake cutting set and a table for Clergy.

4. Substitutions can be made with the entrees. Ask what other options you have that are not listed on the wedding menu.

5. YES you can get ethnic foods added. We added some Spanish specialties to ours!!

6. Chair covers are $3 per chair plain, $4 per chair with a bow on it.

7. Aisle runner is 50 ft regardless of what room you're in.

8. If you are over your minimum, vendors are half price. If you are under your minimum, vendors are full price to help you get closer to the minimum.

Any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm a little disappointed because now we lost out on having our ceremony in the Skylight Room since there's a party there in the daytime. So now we may end up having our ceremony in the Penthouse instead. (It's either that or having the ceremony in the Oak Room and I was against that since that is where our reception is!!!)
