Oh no! I hope that everything will work out ok! I have to wait until Chad comes back, and thats not until Thursday. I know that I have the Deluxe menu with 7 dinner choices and full cocktail hour, and also a cordial bar. I never realized that people payed extra for those things,,,I was just told that thats what I'm getting for the price,,,which isn't as high as I thought it would be. Hmmmmm, I better get those chair covers in writing!!!!

I have the same menu...They might have added stuff for 2007 though...Lucky you!

I know that everything Robert told us when we booked was already in our contract, so you can probably just look at that...Good luck!

I just booked the JT about two weeks ago, and I have Chad as my BM. He is awesome, awesome, awesome! When I had asked about the chair covers he said that it is included with the whole package,,,so now I'm worried and don't understand why they are making some people pay? And what is fondant?

So weird! I've never heard any other JT bride get the chair covers for free without giving something up or some serious negotiating...I'd definitely call and check to make sure you understood correctly. Definitely report back because I certainly don't want to pay for those!

Fondant is a type of cake frosting that is rolled flat and then sort of draped onto the cake. It is very smooth in appearance versus other types of frosting. In my experience, it doesn't taste very good, but it's much prettier than buttercream because it looks flawless.

I am actually a bride that got my chair covers thrown in for free on the day of my wedding.. I had asked about the prices of the chair covers, but didn't have the money to splurge on them come time for the wedding.. low and behold on the day of my wedding, I walked into my room before everyone got into the room and they were on the chairs.. I didn't dare say a word to anyone!!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

For brides that have the deluxe menu, I have some questions...

I was looking through my contract and the brouchures they gave me and a couple of things caught my eye...

What exactly is the 'champagne march'? This sounds sketchy to me, especially if it involves the waiters doing some sort of choreographed dance number jk. But seriously, what is it?

Does anyone know if they will exchange some other type of decoration for those fruit carving things? MY FH and I found them a little creepy, so I was hoping they could just do some flowers on the food tables instead...Anyone successful in doing this?

Did anyone ge the ice sculpture? Do you just need to pick from their list, or can you ask them to do something special? Also, do you really have to have it all lit up and rotating?

Finally, is the doorman really in a top hat and RED TAILS!?!? That seems weird to me, like there's one of the wicked witch's flying monkeys opening the door for my guests or something. There wasn't a wedding going on when we looked, so there was no doorman...

Thanks ladies!

I can't answer your question but I totally know what you mean about them being creepy! I don't want any animals made out of fruit at my wedding!!

Oh, I forgot to add..

Does anyone know Robert's e-mail address? I have a whole list of things I want to ask him, so I don't really want to do it over the phone...

Thanks!

The champagne march is a little weird to me too, but some people love it. It is a choreographed dance number that the wait staff does before they pour your champagne into your glasses.

I would think that they could do whatever kind of ice sculpture you want them to. Most catering halls ask you what you want and they usually can copy it free of charge (unless it is something that requires a lot of detail).

Yes there is a door man that is in a hat and jacket. I think it looks very nice when you walk up to the door and someone if there to open it for you. I don't think that it looks as weird as you think that it is. You should check out the place one Saturday or Sunday in the afternoon so you could get a feel for how things look when they have something going on. Even if you don't walk around or talk to a BM, at least you can see how the staff is and what the door man looks like.

The champagne march is not a dance number at all, it's all the wait staff coming in at the same time and pouring champagne in a 'march' type of style to all of your guests at the same time. This avoids stale champagne. They also bow to you and your DH, which I liked. The march was a huge hit.

I'm not sure you can have something instead of the carved fruit, I personally liked that display. There are some pictures in my review. People ooh and ahhed at it.

Please ask about your ice sculpture. I didn't and I HATED MINE! It was a hideous bride and groom lit up 'green'. It was gross and tacky. I wish I had cared before hand because that's the one thing I didn't care about and the one thing I noticed once I walked into the CH room. So ask...no surprises for you!!

The man in a hat is cool...it adds to the 'feeling' of being a queen for the day.

about the chair covers...

chad also told me over the phone that he'll 'work them in' but rob wouldn't budge from $3 per chair. i have a feeling the brides who were 'surprised' with chair covers the day of their weddings are likely getting lucky because some other bride paid for them and JT had the chairs set up with them on already. is this possible?

also, what is the 'deluxe menu'? i don't remember seeing deluxe on the package they gave us.

rob won't budge with us either on chair covers, but i'm just going to pay for them anyway, instead of wishing i'll get 'lucky' and lo and behold, the chair covers are put free of charge! they really do add a nice touch to the room...i'm in the dome room...

I didn't deal with Rob, but I definitely paid for chair covers.

The Deluxe Menu is the one with 7 dinner entree choices. I had the 'Wedding Menu' which only had 3 plus a child and a vegetarian option (so 5 total).

WAIT A MINUTE!!! Rob never told me about the 'wedding menu', I was never given an option. What the f***? I'm going there tomorrow to make my 2nd to last payment and I'm going to mention this to Rob. Then I'm going to tell him that I EXPECT the chair covers on my wedding day or he's going to have a VERY unhappy bride on his hands!!!

I too was initially only given the Deluxe (7 choice) menu, not told it was that, but made it seem as though that was their only option. It wasn't until FH and I were there to negotiate that we were given the Wedding Menu (3 choice). Personally, I think there is SO much food there, what's a few more entree options. My concern was that Prime Rib was an option, which it is on both menus.
