BKtoLI: who is your BM? I'm sorry they didn't work any extras into your deal =(

I asked Tino if he could bring the price down if we forgo the ice sculpture and the crudites and he said no. What things did they let you take off?

We have Anthony. We love him to death, but when we first went through our contract, we had no idea about how much we could negotiate. So that was partially our own fault.

We removed I believe 3 things from the cocktail hour that we figured not many of our guests would eat, and we took off 3 entree choices, so they have 4 options instead of 7. That took the price down by about $7 or $8 pp.

The ice sculpture they thrown in for free anyway, so taking that out wouldn't lower the costs.

ETA: I was told by one BM (don't know his name) that if you use 4 house vendors that you get things thrown in like sushi or seafood boat, or some other option. We're only using 1 or 2 vendors, so this doesn't apply to us.

I had absolutely positively NOTHING thrown in for free. If anything, we took items off the menu to bring down the price. I'm a little upset about that, because I keep hearing about people having things thrown in and we got nothing.

I'm hoping maybe something will be made up for on my wedding day, but I seriously doubt it.

I'm in the same boat. I got the deluxe menu the extra hour and didn't get anything thrown in.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

WOW $7-8 is better than any extras ~!

I would love to knock some stuff off our cocktail list as well~! Tino told us it doesn't work like that. I'm going to try to get Mike or Robert this Sat. and hopefully we can get some definitive answers on negotiations.

Tino didn't mention any perks for using 4 or more vendors. Likely, we will not be using any of them though.

THANKS BK~!

Foofy: what is the deluxe menu? So far I have only seen the menu they included with the packet. Is the extra hour theViennese hour? Tino quoted us $12 extra per person. Did you get the same thing?

Thanks Foofy~!

Yes that's the package I'm talking about the one with 7 entree's. I also got the Viennese hour. I don't remember how much extra I had to pay for that all I know it's 120pp.

SomethingBLu : Who was your BM?

THANKS for all your info~! I can't say enough how helpful this forum is.

My BM was the amazing Mike Closs. Love that man!! You could read about our wonderful day in my review, which is posted on The Bride's Review board. There's even a pic of us with Mike!

As for freebies, can't say I got any. We paid for everything we had (overtime, chair covers, chocolate fountain). But they were very flexible and worked with our budget.

Our guests are still raving about our wedding and the treatment my husband and I received was excellent, can't ask for more.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

Sandy, whoever told you things can not be changed is lying. I was told by my BM that you can add or remove things on your contract up until about a month before the weddding. All they do is amend the contract.

Maybe that BM is either not informed or just does not want to bother with changing anything. But we most certainly changed the deluxe menu to suit our budget and needs. We took off stuff like artichokes and stuffed peppers, because most of the family doesn't eat that stuff. We took off a few entree choices, because after all the food that will be at the CH, 4 choices is more than enough.

I was also told the chocolate fountain is $5, mini viennese is $10pp which includes the chocolate fountain, and full viennese is $15pp including the chocolate fountain. However, these COULD be 2006 prices (which we booked in 05) and I wouldn't be surprised if the prices go up for 2007.

Is he the bald guy or the dark haired guy? I'm just trying to remember because one of them was there when we made our last payment and just annoyed us!!

Oh yeah, be aware, vendors do read these boards.

Ditto. All contracts can be ammended. We added things constantly. Again, make sure you're dealing with someone who knows what they're talking about. 'No' should really not be used, after all, you're paying! That word was hardly ever used in my dealings with JT.

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!

i agree that things can be changed up to the month before...robert is our bm, and since out invitations were printed with a wrong cocktail starting time, 6pm instead of 7pm, he said he would open up the piano lounge for our early guests, with wine and cheese, and instead of -8pm cocktail hour, he would start it at 6:30-8pm, at no additonal costs for these changes...of course, we're definitely going to get these things in writing, because what are words if not on paper? we're also doing full vienesse..

He's bald. Well, maybe I'm being Bridezilla here, after all we loved him during our tour and booked it from his pitch to us. I think maybe the front line sales ppl can't promise much until you book the date. It sounds like they are very willing to work with brides.

I actually mentioned this board to Robert and Chad but they didn't really comment about it.

that's so funny cause i mentioned this whole site to robert when we told him we knew of altogether 2 other weddings going on at the same time as our reception thoughout the whole night, and i told him that we were told no more than 2 receptions at a time were done. when i told him that i knew that 3 of us were having our ceremony or reception that same night, around same time, he acted like he never heard of LIW..it was funny, but he assured us we won't interlap with each other..we'll see

We have 11am-4:30pm and I'm wondering if anyone has had success with pushing the time around. We would love 12-5:30 instead.

You might have a hard time. The evening receptions usually start at 6pm, so ending at 5:30 would be cutting it too close. Your only chance would be if the next party using the same reception room doesn't start until 7 or 8pm. I would ask to be sure.

Time is the one thing that they're usually strict with. They have to stagger the parties hence why they're scheduling you at that time. I wanted my reception to end at 1am which would have been possible if my CH started at 8pm. But because there was another wedding at that time I had to keep my 7pm CH start time. In the end, I added OT and had the best of both worlds. Everything else is workable...but time may not be since you're not the only event.

I can't believe Robert pretended he didn't know about this site...They're a featured vendor on here for goodness sake! They'd better know about it since they're probably paying a ton of money to advertise on here! He was definitely lying though, because I had a conversation with him about a negative review I'd read on here a couple of months ago about JT, and he knew all about LIW...What a weirdo...Why would he deny knowing about it? Very odd...
