I actually mentioned this board to Robert and Chad but they didn't really comment about it.
that's so funny cause i mentioned this whole site to robert when we told him we knew of altogether 2 other weddings going on at the same time as our reception thoughout the whole night, and i told him that we were told no more than 2 receptions at a time were done. when i told him that i knew that 3 of us were having our ceremony or reception that same night, around same time, he acted like he never heard of LIW..it was funny, but he assured us we won't interlap with each other..we'll see
I can't believe Robert pretended he didn't know about this site...They're a featured vendor on here for goodness sake! They'd better know about it since they're probably paying a ton of money to advertise on here! He was definitely lying though, because I had a conversation with him about a negative review I'd read on here a couple of months ago about JT, and he knew all about LIW...What a weirdo...Why would he deny knowing about it? Very odd...
I agree, Robert is my BM and I saw him a few weeks ago and we were talking about LIW.
I love JT, but I have some concerns. My CH starts at 8:30pm, I wanted it at 7pm but Rob said it's not possible because of other weddings going on. Also, I never negotiated the price with them when we booked, do you think it's possible now to get Rob to throw in the chair covers and the mini viennese? He keeps saying 'I'll work with you on stuff as the wedding gets closer'. But I keep making payments and nothings been changed on my contract. What if in May he pretends (again) to not know what I'm talking about. Somethingblu...I need your expertise!!!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Rob is my bm and he explained to us that you could 'trade ' different items for each other, like the chafing dishes had chicken scarparel but my fi wanted chicken marsala and he said that was fine since they make everything from scratch, he said you couldn't trade chicken scarperel for lobster but as long as it was an even trade he would do anything, although he did charge us for chair covers

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
we met with Rob this sat. and we LOVE him. if i don't have to deal with anyone else there, i'll be a happy bride. He told us not to worry about details or the menu until about 6 weeks before the wedding. like others have said, he really knows how to handle stressed and anal brides. i couldn't get him to throw in the chair covers ($3) but i have a feeling i was realllly wearing him down so we'll see as the date gets closer. also like others have said, he encourages brides to call him ANYTIME. he told my fiance - if she ever gets stressed out, just ask her 'Have you called ROB??' haha. really Rob is great.any thoughts on Gina's services?? she's free right?
also, anyone pay more for a fondant cake? if so how much more?
THANKS~!

I think someone mentioned a week or so ago that fondant is a lot extra (like $600 extra!!!
). I'm kind of worried about the 'don't worry about anything until 6 weeks before' line Robert keeps giving me. I kind of want to get in there now and get most of the details sorted out so I can use the 6 weeks before meeting for follow-up, little details, etc. Robert sort of shut me down on that one...I guess I'll have to call him this week (he said to call any time, right).
ETA: I believe Gina is free (at least that's what Robert told me and what it says on the JT website). I've had a lot of trouble getting in touch with her, though. She's never there when I call (I think she works weird hours) and I've e-mailed her a couple of times and she's never responded...

Try not to stress!!
I say try because I know how hard it is not to...
If there is something you absolutely want, then by all means make an appointment and go over it now (because I strongly recommend in person appointments for making any changes to your contract). IMO there are 2 times to get the best prices. At the initial meeting (when all your bargaining skills need to come out) and at the second to final meeting (when all your changes need to be added in writing to the contract). The final meeting is (or at least it was for us) when you pay and confirm all your choices. The meeting before last is when you add things...and at that point they are willing to work with you (that's when I added the martini bar for a lot less than they were charging when there was 'time' left).
But the fact that you said that he has pretended not to know what you're talking about is troubling. I kept a journal/log of every call and meeting with JT. So whenever I mentioned something to Mike and he told me a different price, I would refer to my notes and quote him, so I was able to get the item for the already agreed upon price. I used these notes when it was time to add things to my contract. But Mike was really awesome. I didn't deal with Rob, but I hope he's as great.
I hope I made sense...FM me if I don't!

Sasha, thanks so much for posting this, because I was wondering about this 2 days ago!!!
I have 9 weeks to go and have yet to get the package or call they were talking about to start making final appointments and such. I'm guessing we'll get it around the end of the month.
I was told they can make changes to the menu, as long as it's a similar change (ie chicken marsala to chicken parm or filet mignon to prime rib).
Right now we're just taking it easy, but knowing we have to go over semi-final arrangements in 3 weeks makes me want to hurl!!

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Just to let everyone know.. I tried to get the chair covers thrown in a couple of months before my wedding and they wouldn't budge.. i really wanted them, but I didn't have the money to get them at that point... on my wedding day, I walked into the room before the start and low and behold there were the chair covers and we didn't even pay for them... I couldn't believe it.. they also threw in the cordial bar at the end of the night.... I was so happy!!

Anyone who had the Viennese Hour in the Dome Room - where were all the desserts set up? Was the extra $$$ for the Viennese Hour worth it?

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
Does anyone know if JT provides the placecards/escort cards? We're doing a donation in lieu of favors, and the Children's Hospital provides either scrolls or placecards. If JT provides them, I'll just do the scrolls, but if not, I guess we'll do the placecards...

Re: 'Official Jericho Terrace Thread'!
To all Dome Room Brides:1. How & where were the bars set up, was there enough room, I am really worried that the guest who are getting drinks from the bars will overcrowd the tables that are near the bar??
2. Also it looks like the bar carts they use are small, are they able to have a large variety & quantity of liquor in such a small cart??

I just booked the JT about two weeks ago, and I have Chad as my BM. He is awesome, awesome, awesome! When I had asked about the chair covers he said that it is included with the whole package,,,so now I'm worried and don't understand why they are making some people pay? And what is fondant?

So weird! I've never heard any other JT bride get the chair covers for free without giving something up or some serious negotiating...I'd definitely call and check to make sure you understood correctly. Definitely report back because I certainly don't want to pay for those!
Fondant is a type of cake frosting that is rolled flat and then sort of draped onto the cake. It is very smooth in appearance versus other types of frosting. In my experience, it doesn't taste very good, but it's much prettier than buttercream because it looks flawless.

You know all contract specifics are different , for all you know she may be paying more Per person thatn others or she may not have something in her contract that you do so that in the end it all evens out, they are not about to loose out on making a profit on any contract, also her date may not be as popular as other date. I think every contract is unique.

Oh no! I hope that everything will work out ok! I have to wait until Chad comes back, and thats not until Thursday. I know that I have the Deluxe menu with 7 dinner choices and full cocktail hour, and also a cordial bar. I never realized that people payed extra for those things,,,I was just told that thats what I'm getting for the price,,,which isn't as high as I thought it would be. Hmmmmm, I better get those chair covers in writing!!!!
