The class only meets once a week so we have to do our lab and then he lectures for a time that seems never ending

i was 21 and both my parents wanted to kill me .....so if i was 14 pregnant my mom would have been so mad she would have gave me a home abortion

I just got engaged last week. I'm Mexican-American too. Although I've been here in LI for 7 years, where are you planning to get the various items (lasso, pillows, coins, etc.) I have no idea where to go!

Can any one help me by suggesting some places here on LI?

Hey, chicas!

I just got engaged last week, but I've been researching the latino traditions quite a bit. For a good explanation of padrinos, and what they can cover, and how to include them in the ceremony (Procession and invitiations), there is a book called 'Viva el Amor: The Latino Wedding Planner' by Edna R. Bautista (it's bi-lingual). You can get it on Amazon.com. It's mostly for catholic mexican-americans, but it has some good information for other latinas too. Like a doll dressed as a bride for PR brides at the reception, where guests can place ribbon favors (capias) on the doll's dress. I learned a lot from this book.

I'll try to post some of the web sites I've been coming across on latino wedding traditions when I have time.

Btw, any ideas on where to shop for the various items, or good vendors for mexican food, music here on LI? Thanks!

I get on mostly at work....I go to school in the evenings and DH and I go out on the weekends so that's the married time.

OMG girls I just made potato salad dominican style... it is soooo yummy!!! and it is my first time making it

I though I should share with my girls that understand the meaning of a good 'ensalada rusa' (as we call it in DR)
