card making tips needed

I started to make some cards and I need info on how to glue / stick / adhese paper / accesories to the card stock.... I used 3M all purpose adhesive, and got it EVERYWHERE....is there a better solution?

depending on what it is....

usually I use photosquares for almost everything...and just cut them up...

if its something that tape would show...i have a glue pen that I use

I like my glue stick...it goes on as a blue liquid but drys clear.

for heavier, bulkier embellishments I ise glue dots!!

Lisa - is there a trick to that glue stick? I used it for the recipes actually and a lot of them came apart - I ended up reinforcing with glue dots.

Dubliner - I'll also use a regular glue stick or a tape runner from creative memories.

I always let it dry a little bit before glueing it down.

oh, I thought that made the adhesive more temporary. I'll try it in my scrapbook next time - since the pages aren't handled too much it shouldn't be much of a problem anyway. thanks.
