Re: Good place to buy a wedding dress
The most affordable place will be David's Bridal. If you are not fond of the idea, you should shop around at the salons and maybe see if you can get the gown you like cheaper on bridesave.net or netbride.com.

I love Valentina's. They are in Brooklyn but they give great discounts and they are wonderful people to deal with.

The most affordable place will be David's Bridal.
Davids is very affordable, but there have been A LOT, I MEAN A LOT of people who have had bad, very bad experiences there, including my sister. If you LOVE a dress from Davids, I would have it altered somewhere else. Davids doesn't store the dress for you so you have to take it home when it comes in.
I got my dress at Centereach Bridal Suite. I had great service when ordering my dress and my BM dresses. They didn't come in yet so I can't give feedback about the alterations department.
I would do a lot of research about where you get your dress before you buy it.

Re: Good place to buy a wedding dress
I got my dress at Lillettes in Baldwin, its a bit of a hike but they are so amazingly nice and helpful! Paradise Bridal in Patchogue is good. ALot of gals on here went to Lidias in Copaigue and have good things to say!My SIL got a BM dress from Cathy's on Sunrise Hwy in Lindy and she said she had no problems there I dont know how their selection is though!
Personally, I had a bad experience at Adriennes in Islip!

I love Lillette's! The most expensive dresses they have go up to $2500, and they have a selection of dresses under $1000.They are just great to work with!

Re: Good place to buy a wedding dress
Hi and welcome!I got my dress at a sample sale at Kleinfeld for 1/2 price! Sample sales are a great way to save money on your dress. Also, if you order a dress at a trunk show, you will save around 10%-15%.
Happy shopping!

Re: Good place to buy a wedding dress
I went to Macy's in Manhasset because they had dress I wanted... but i shopped at four other stores to FIND the dress I wanted first.Macy's price competes so I was able to haggle the price down by proving I could get it at a better price.
I really had a GREAT exprience there.. But I can't say the prices are cheap but they aren't overly expensive.

This is true, if you're talking specifically about the Carle Place store. I had a great experience at the David's where I found my dress in San Antonio, and I ordered my dress from David's in NJ (spent a total of 5 minutes there, so I can't tell you about the service yet, but I did benefit by not paying any sales tax, so already it's been a plus). I would suggest avoiding the Carle Place store since I've heard only bad things about it, but I wouldn't write off the entire chain because of it. They do happen to make some beautiful and inexpensive dresses.

Re: Good place to buy a wedding dress
If you are OK with ordering over the internet, go to www.bridecouture.com They have amazing prices on real designer dresses AND the dresses are in gorgeous condition. The only downside is that they only have mostly size 10, a few 8 and a few 12. It is worth looking though.

Re: Good place to buy a wedding dress
I just bought my dress at Cathy Bridal in Lindenhurst. The girl Jackie that was there was sooo amazing and helpful. I hated everything on the rack when I walked in and she walked around with me, asked me a ton of questions on my taste and then grab some dresses and off we went. The first dress I tried on the one I bought after trying on a billion other dresses. Their prices were great.. they even had some sample close out dresses for a STEAL... Alterations were $50.00 for everything.Welcome New Vendors
