Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
If so, how are you managing your wedding planning?
I work full time and I am going to register for 2 classes this coming Spring 2004. I have , no idea, when I will have time to study with all this wedding planning...and excitement!!!!!
When do you have time to study?

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
To be honest with you it is so hard. I am going for nursing so alot of studying is required! I work full time and go to scholl 3 days a week. My grades are ok but it is hard to study. I find myself starting to study then I stop to go online or look at magazines. Good luck!

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
me too. I'm taking 3 classes this semester (not too bad, 1x a week for 2 hrs each). This way if i want to take a light load (1 class) next sem when we are on out HM, i won't feel so bad. But its gonna suck!

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
Well I've been working FT and going to school PT for a while now and it's tough, but you just learn how to shuffle things around. I'll only be taking one class next semester(2days/week) b/c I figure I'll be really busy to do more than that. Good luck and don't worry you can do it.

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
Tess, I do the same thing!!! I'm not going to lie it is definitely hard. I work full time and go to school in the evening fulltime. Basically, I tried to see all the vendors on one weekend and hopefully I find one that I like. One weekend I had appts with 8 florists! It is hard to concentrate and I find my self thinking about what jewelry I am going to wear rather than my exams. But I just keep telling myself it will be over in May and I just have to prioritize.Good Luck!!!!

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
OMG is it hard. I am just finishing up my Masters this semester. I am taking three classes, three nights a week, plus working full-time and planning a wedding that is only 2 1/2 months away. Can you say STRESSED!!! I have papers coming out my ass to do and a mom bugging me to do wedding stuff constantly and lessons to plan for work. I can't wait til school is over next month so I can relax a bit and focus on my wedding and enjoy the rest of the planning. It has not been easy this past year, but I would not change a thing. I am proud of myself for all that I am accomplishing and all good things are happening. I just keep thinking that in 1 month I will have my degree, in two months or so I will be getting married and I am off for a nice three week long Honeymoon to enjoy all my accomplishments and my new husband. Just hang in there, it will all be worth it!!

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
I am another bride working FT and going to school part time. I have been doing this for the past year and let me tell you that it is NOT easy at all. Your wedding is in the middle of the summer so that should not to be to bad. I would not take any summer classes if I were you or maybe just take the first summer session. I have to take both the first and second summer session if I want to graduate in December so I gather that I will be a complete basket case towards the end(I am getting married 08/06/04). While it is a Pain in the ass, if this is what you really want to do, you will find a way to balance it out and enjoy it. It has been the best thing for my psyche as I will be changing careers and I just keep focused on that.

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
Being stressed and tired is an understatement. I thought working full time and getting my MBA was no joke. Then to add planning a NY wedding from Chicago to the mix Plus, we have a small window when we can get married next summer bc FH is a part-time law student and has to take summer classes. Although I will be done in June, FH won't be done until 2006. I suggested that we wait til 2005, but he doesnt want a long engagement. When the questions come about how planning is going, all I could say is I dont have time right now. FH and I had to tell our mothers that they can only ask/talk to us about wedding stuff on Fridays until finals are over. We dont really only talk about it once a week, it was just a way to get them off our backs!
We try to do most of our studying on Sundays. On the nights that I dont have class I go to the library and wait til FH gets out of class. But somehow when I am supposed to be studying, I always end up on this site. Can anyone guess where I am now? I am in the library where I should be studying for my final on Mon!

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
Hey we're getting married on the same day!
I'll be in NY this week to finalize a reception location. I hope this trip is better bc I just got frustrated when FH and I were in NY 3 weeks ago. But this time, I am a little more organized and made a bunch of appts instead of doing walk-ins.
This site has really helped me narrow down the places we want to see.

Hey date mate!I think u have me beat on the stress part. I can't imagine having to plan the wedding from another state. that definitely adds a new dimension to it. Are u just starting or have u booked vendors yet?

I was working full time and going to school at night while planning the wedding. It's not easy, but you just have to prioritize. It can be done, my grades didn't suffer at all. Focus! Good luck!

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
I have been so preoccupied with school. I knew I had less than a year to plan, my first concern was securing the church. I always knew I wanted to get married at the Cathedral of the Incarnation (in Garden City, next to GC Hotel). The church is so beautiful.I decided not to book vendors bc I dont have a reception location yet. I thought we were going to have to change the date.
I have picked out the dresses for my BP and we hope to have them ordered by the new year.
My MOH called the florist who did her wedding and told her to pencil me in for the date (getting a discount bc florist is family friend of MOH).
I plan to do the initial call to photgraphers and videographers, my mom is gonna interview them for me.
I am gonna get on the ball next week!

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
I work full time, have a p/t weekend job and go to grad school p/t also! I don't have time for wedding planning at all, that would explain why I have so little done. I do a lot of research online (i sneak on at work!) and I do reading and homework for school during my lunch breaks!

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
I will be working part time and back in school full time. My Fi and I wanted to get married for the end of 2004 but we moved the date back because I will be starting school sept 2004 so we were a little worried that I might not be able ot juggle it all(to tell you the truth I am not sure moving the wedding back 1 year will ease my stress by much)But somehow we will get it done and 10 years from now you won't remember your stress level as much as you will remember how amazing your wedding day was.

Re: Any future Brides Working FT & going to School?
hey ladieswell i'm sure glad i not going through this alone
i will start working full time (2jobs) soon and will begin law school in sept
2004 (full-time) . my goal is to save as much money as i can this year that
i won't be in school and just work part-time next year. this will be hard on
both of us since we are paying for the wedding by ourselves and of course
paying for our personal bills on the side. The only good thing is we both still
live with our parents which will allow us to save as much as possible.
that is why i decided on a summer wedding. i figured it would be the only time
i would have availabe to go away on a HM and i figure since i will be getting
out of school in may i will still have over two months to get the final details
out of the way (everyone knows the the last couple of months are horrible
when it coems to the stress factor) well good luck and let's continue
to support one another!!!!!!!!!!
