What are you getting your Mom for Christmas?

I have no idea what to get mine. I feel like she has everything.

This is how I feel about my mother as well. Everything she could want, she buys for herself. I bought her a really nice cheese board because she loves to eat and serve cheese and never had a board, and since we are moving into a new place, she'll be entertaining a lot. I don't know what else to get her besides the lousy cheeseboard!

I bought her a matching pocketbook and wallet. I am also going to buy her a cashmere sweater since she doesn't have one.

Wow Jenn what a nice gift!! I ask my mom, she is in her late 70's and has everything so I tell her to give me a few things that she needs and then I pick one or two!! Rather get her something that she can use then something that will sit in a closet!

Rachel, does you mom drink wine??

My cousin got her mom this wine rack with a marble top, which she said was for cheese. The got it at the Bombay store, and it was around $100. Your cheesebrard made me think of that.

I got my mom this gorgeous holiday/Christmas quilt for her bedroom. Mom loves to decorate the whole house for Christmas- so I thought now she'll be able to decorate her bedroom.

She loves to decorate so I got her those decorative flags that go in front of the house..1 for every holiday. They have 2 flag poles..a small garden size one and a regular size. I went to terrysvillage.com and they were so inexpensive so I got her a whole bunch.

We are thinking of getting my mother a Dooney & Bourke pocketbook. I think it's something she would enjoy but she doesn't need it and would never buy it for herself.

It is a journal like book that your mom fills out. Asks her all about her life. My mom loved it and I learned so many things I would have never known. Now I am glad I have it.

Might be a cute idea to go along with whatever you buy.

Not a god damned thing!

This year's excuse is Im getting married next year.. next year's excuse is I just got married. Last year's excuse was we were planning on getting an apt (which we were, but it didnt happen).

Probably get Dad something tho. The usual excuse .. it was dirt cheap, used or given to me as a gift (all lies).

What a great idea....after reading your post, I went onto Amazon and took a look...I bought that one and I also bought 'Grandma, tell me your memories' so she can write that one to my nephew, her grandson.
