Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

Trying to liven this board up a bit here....

FH has been talking alot w/his groomsmen about going to Vegas for his bachelor party. WTF?? I mean I don't think they'll actually DO it since they're all a bunch of broke a$$ punks but what do you girls think of this??

It's a bit MUCH for a bachelor party, don't ya think?? I'm not all that concerned because I trust him completely and all (and because I don't think it'll happen - haha!!) but still... if it DID go through....I think I might freak out a little. Would you?

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

I totally agree with you. I know that FH won't let me go far away for a bachlorette party (not a trust issue either) just concerns with girls and safety. I feel that it should go both ways absolutly. If he thinks he's gonna go that far away- ask him how he would feel if you went to South Beach or something...

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

More likely than not, FH is going to Vegas for his bachelor party. It's been a tradition in his family to have destination bachelor parties and this time around, one of his brother's (one of the BM) said Vegas Baby!

I hope he has a great time! Me and my friends will be in the Hamptons for the weekend at my stepmom's, family's home.

So no, I *personally* don't think it's over the top at all.

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

Ummmm. My Fh is going to New Orleans during MARDI GRAS for his Bachelor party And there are like 15 other people going (his friends and cousins).
It is very common amongst his circle of friends to go away for bachelor parties. He went to Vegas in June for his friend's bachelor party. At first I was taken back, but hey, I trust him and know he won't do anything stupid. So I voted for..'Sure have fun.'

ETA: His friends, cousins, and brother (the best man) are paying for FH's flight and hotel stay.

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

I'm sure he would'nt do anything stupid. If his friends have no money do they expect your FH to pay for himself?? Thats not a Bach. party.! Can't his friends do something a little more affordable and closer to home??

BTW I voted for hell no!!

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

FH has been talking about a bachelor party in Vegas since we got engaged. His brother (BM) and another friend are SO feeding into this fantasy wayyyyy toooo much! He and his friends are poker fanatics, I know that's all they'd be doing there. My theory is if he can double our wedding savings than by all means, go and have a free drink for me, if not.....don't even bother coming home!!

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

My FH is going to Vegas on his bachelor party and I am very excited for him. I know he's going to have a great time and a trip he will never forget. I just have to lock up our funds so he doesn't spend it all

I would go away with my girls but I really hate flying and I rather just wait until the Honeymoon to fly anywhere.

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

well, I am in the same boat as you other ladies who's FH's are going to Vegas...January 9 thru the 11th for mine. I really don't care about it though.
#1 I trust him
#2 The main reason they are going is cuz it wasn't much more than AC and they get to say they went to Vegas!!
BTW, there is no prostitution in vegas, they would have to drive like 3 hours to get to where it is legal, and let's face it, these are guys, they don't drive 3 hours for much of anything.
Also, I might add...a few of his groomsmen are not going cuz the wives said no...i thought that was a little odd but what the who....

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

My FH was talking about going to Vegas but some of his groomsmen can't go because their girlfriends won't let them . I didn't care, I wanted to go too!

Marcela - MARDI GRAS I've been there before - it's like one giant open-air freak show (I can't wait to go back )

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

Rebecca: LMAO And it was his brother (the best man) which is the 'quiet and innocent' one of the bunch (for example, he doesn't drink coffee, alcohol or smoke cigs) that came up with this idea. I almost died when he told me about it. I thought for sure FH would have a very calm bachelor party since his bro was planning it. As you can see, I was wrong

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

Wow! I must say that I am surprised by how many of you are completely cool with it!! Not that there's anything wrong with that, I just didn't expect to hear so many brides be ok with it. (you're not helping me win this one, ladies!! )

I dunno, I just don't see a need for the bachelor party to consist of more than one night. I mean it's a bachelor party not a bachelor vacation He shoulda done that long before the wedding (like I did, hee hee)

Re: Vegas for the Bachelor Party?!?

I don't know what my FH plans on doing yet, but I just wanted to tell you about when my FH was a groomsman for his sisters wedding and they went to Vegas. I 'let' him go. I didn't want him to go, not because of trust but because of money. We are paying for the wedding ourselves and are saving for a house. Whenever we take vacations together we do it the cheap way to save money. For this bachelor party, they went all out, and it cost A LOT of money. I was kinda mad because I don't take expensive vacations with my girlfriends, and we are constantly passing up going out to dinner with our friends and stuff like that to save money. Personally I wouldn't want his bachelor party to be longer than 1 weekend.

As far as he's concerned he *thinks* he's still going (yeah, if I 'let' him -- LOL kidding, of course). The decision won't really be made until his GMs come through with the plans. As of right now, he's talking about driving (road trip is part of the fun) so it'll be at least a 5 day getaway!!! It would be sometime in August of 2004. So I really won't know until it gets much closer.

I did an all girl roadtrip to South Beach back in June, but that was planned waaaay before we got engaged, though it technically took place after we got engaged. So guess it's only fair for him to go away with the guys too....
