Need a Vet in Nassau.. Kitty isn't right.. *** UPDATE ***
He's been in our room almost all day. Sleeping. so cute.. but he's normally not like this. And then he took off for a bit. Jim just went out and found that he had eaten and thrown up all his food. Now he's back in our room again sleeping. He's sorta awake but not really.Should I worry?
He hasn't seen a vet for a check up in about 2 years.
We are in Hempstead/Mineola/GardenCity/CarlePlace area.

I believe there is an emergency animal hospital in Plainview. Be prepared though they are major money.

Re: Need a Vet in Nassau.. Kitty isn't right..
we dont want to take him to an emergancy room. We just want the name of a regular vet. ER vets are way out of finances..
We love him but we don't even have money for food this week much less him in an ER room.
Next week I get paid and figured id take him in on Friday. I have the day off.

I don't know if he's still in business, but try Dr. Flynn in Syosset. He saved my kitty's life a few times and is a great doctor. He may be willing to work with a payment plan, because if you're kitty is sick, you shouldn't wait another week.

Re: Need a Vet in Nassau.. Kitty isn't right..
In Bellmore on Sunrise Hwy there is an excellent vet. Dr Walsh is the vets name, and the place is called Bellmore Animal Hospital. If you do decide to take your kitty there, just be prepared because the doctor has Parkinson disease and he is hard to understand. On bad days they usually have an assistant there to help. He is an excellent doctor...Very kind hearted to the animals and very caring. I wouldnt recommend him if I havent gone to him before. Danielle brings her two dogs there all the time. We were just in there a few months ago with her dog Benji.
Here is the information on the hospital:
Bellmore Animal Hospital, 607 Sunrise Hwy, Bellmore, NY, (516) 221-2966.

Re: Need a Vet in Nassau.. Kitty isn't right..
I hope so. We're gonna watch him. If he's still like this by next Friday he's going in. Like it or not (he HATES the kitty kaddie). Its sort of funny. We put him the kaddie for trips for his shots. Otherwise he likes the thing to crawl into and take naps. But once a year, he hates it. He gets his fat ass somehow crammed all the way at the far end and just leers at you with his green eyes. The last time we took him for shots the vet was afraid to reach him. He's not volient, which was proven when the doc reached in, but trying to convinence the doc of that was fun. Seriously he's a sweetie, he just looks mean when he's ticked.
We'll see.
Thanks everyone.. im gonna go to sleep now.

Re: Need a Vet in Nassau.. Kitty isn't right..
I second A&A in Franklin Square... we take our kitties there. Very competent doctors.I wonder if it's just a nasty hairball? Sometimes our long-haired cat will throw up her food because she's got a lingering hairball that takes a while to come up... but once it does she's back to normal. We feed them the same 'hairball remedy' food all the time, but I guess sometimes not even that helps completely.
I hope kitty feels better!!!! Good luck with the vet.

I'm not sure what kind of kitty carrier you have .. but maybe you can just take the top half off instead of having to reach in and grab kitty??
Our boy hates going to the vet, and the first few annual trips in, the vets would tip the carrier and shake until finally kitty would slide out .. however .. it wasn't until our first visit with the vet I found to be so awesome that I found out the top of the carrier easily comes off with the turning of some knobs around all sides. Now, that's the only way we take kitty out of the carrier at the vet .. why put anyone through the torment?? (Just a side note .. the vet who was so awesome is not with the practice anymore .. she left to be a mommy.)
Hope your boy is okay!!!
