Well since its your mom that has her altered already MOG might think you are favoring your mom as the one who "should" wear it, which i know you're not. But you can still say to MOG, "I really think it would be nice if you wore a different dress...even the photographer said it would look better in pictures to have a contrast of colors"...or something like that...(Actually in my wedding i'm having like 3 shades of purple)... or you can tell her what other color dresses are gorgeous for the season that would look great on her...and if you are close to her (and she wont take it the wrong way) maybe you can clip some dresses out of a magazine that are similar cut, but different color that would also look fabulous...... i hope that helped :)

How does your Mom feel about it? In my opinion, that's the real question. If both the MoG and the MoB don't mind wearing the same dress, then you should let it go. Afterall, they will be wearing it. If your Mom is upset, then I would convey this to your future MiL and ask her to return. Esp. since your mom can no longer exchange hers.

Its kinda neat that they both picked the exact same outfit. How often does that happen? Both your moms have the same tastes - hopefully that's a sign of more harmonies to come! :)

Thank goodness my future MIl decided to return her dress. After she thought it over she ddecided that she would look for something else.

the rehearsal dinner is also called the groom's dinner (in some parts of the country). since my fiance is a midwestern boy, we are having a groom's dinner (we are also not having a rehearsal). hope this helps. -leighann
