Kinda touchy subject...sorry if TMI

My FSIL just called all in a panic because she thinks she has genital herpes (I'm not quite sure why she chose ME to tell this to!) Apparently, she thought she had a yeast infection, but it seems to be more than that. She cannot get in touch with her Dr, because the office is closed for the holiday. (She lives in Virginia)

She has tons of questions that I have no answers to. Does anyone have any info about this? Feel free to FM me info.

tell her to go to planned parenthood...a friend of mine went through this...there is a blood test...($100-200) and it tells for sure...apparently a physical exam may not pick it up...


interesting info that I found out was that 1/4 adults has this!!

I don't think it does, Stacy. A girl I knew in high school loved to blab to the world about her herpes, and she always said no. Go figure.

I have always heard that if you have genital herpes, you can only deliver via c-section. I knew a girl in HS who's sister had it, and she told us that if women w/ herpes give birth through the birth canal it can make the baby go blind!

I don't know if this is true, but more than one person has told me this so I tend to believe it.
