Should I try to move the church time up a 1/2 hour?

Maybe I am just stressing because time is flying, but I am now wondering if I should see if the church can bump my mass up to 3PM. I am getting married on a Sunday and the church has a 5 o'clock mass on Sundays.

Will this be a time crunch? Will the 5PM parishioners bust into my mass if we're not out in time? Will they cut off our receiving line?

Ugh!

Um, I think people will come in no matter what time you make it.... it's just the way it is. As far as cutting off your receiving line, I doubt it, but if you think this may present a real problem, speak with your parish, maybe they an help you.

I don't think it will be a problem!!! I am sure the church has done 3pm weddings before... and why the heck will people going to 5pm mass be there before 4:35 anyway?!?! And if they do they get to see how BEAUTIFUL of a Bride you will be!!!!

We moved the church up from 3:30 to 3:00 only to give us more time to take pics...we also pushed the cocktail hour back a half hour. We gained an hour...I am so much calmer now...I say do what ever is going to make you feel more relaxed.
I am not worried at all now. The best thing I ever did

Re: Should I try to move the church time up a 1/2 hour?

WHat is the church? Is it St. Bridgid's? Because... they only start their wedding masses at 5pm.... what time is your reception? I am getting married at Chateau Briand at 6:30pm on a sunday, and they, as well as my photographers, told me to have the church at 3pm and NO LATER.... hope this helps!

Re: Should I try to move the church time up a 1/2 hour?

This is St. Anne's in Brentwood. There is a regular Sunday mass at 5PM and I worried that after a full mass and receiving line, I won't be out on time.

I know that no one really needs to be there that early for 5PM mass, but for some reason that mass attracts a bunch of older women who come at 4:30 to do their rosaries

LOL!

that appeared to be the case when I went to 5pm mass at my chucrch this weekend. My mass is at 3. that's the latest they do it, so I take it they know what they are doing.

Your is 3 or 3:30, as it stands now.
I think early birds may see there is a wedding going on & stay out front to watch you come out of the church or to gawlka tthe receiving line, but if the church gives you a certain time, they shouldn't be rushing you out.
