Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
Would you stay for the whole thing, or leave early because of work the next day? Would it prevent you from having maximum fun? This is provided you didn't have to travel far, like no more than 1 hour.

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
I think it depends on the party. If the party is fun and I'm having fun, I'm there till the end. If I'm not enjoying myself, I would leave early. The time/day doesn't prevent me from having maximum fun - the actual party is what would make or break it for me.Probably not the answer you were looking for...

Honestly it would be on the back of my mind if I went to a wedding at that time.

I'd stay for the whole thing. 11pm is a great end time! If it was 12:30, I might think differently.

I am biased b/c that is what time my wedding is

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
I am having a Sunday 7-12 wedding and I think it is great. I think that it allows guests to enjoy the wedding weekend in anticipation.I have gone to a few Sunday night weddings and I either took off on Monday or went it late. It really wasn't that bad.

My wedding was from 6:30-11:30 and almost everyone stayed (and it was snowing!!)If I went to a wedding I would stay as long as I was having fun.

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
To be completely honest with you....it depends on how close I am to the person. If it's a friend, I'd stay for the whole thing. Someone from work or an acquaintance, I'd probably leave at 10pm. But CP has a good point. If the party is bumpin, then it doesnt even matter.

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
Honestly -- before I started planning my own wedding I might have been a little disappointed with a Sunday wedding and would probably plan to leave early as a guest. Now that I know what this is all like -- I would definitely stay til the end and wouldn't have a gripe about it at all!
But the work thing would still be in my mind (as someone else said) and it might put a slight damper on things. But I'm making these statements without ever having attended a Sunday night wedding so I'm making assumptions about how I would feel -- I don't really know. I may be having such a good time at the wedding that I wouldn't even remember it was a Sunday.

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
This is the time of my reception too. Personally, I've been to other weddings at this time and whether I left early or not depended on how much fun I was having and whose wedding it was. For example, my MOH's wedding was the same time. I took the next day off!

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
My wedding is going to 11:30pm on a sunday night. I figure the party people will stay and the older ones will leave. But as to your question - me personally I would stay. 11pm is still early, and you can get up for work the next day - sure you might be tired but then just go to sleep earlier on Monday night.I use Sunday night weddings as an excuse to take off Mondays

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
I don't think that's a problem at all, well at least for me I don't care if I wouldhave work the next day, but I will be honest I don't go to bed until past 12
anyway. My sister's wedding was this past August and it was from 6:30-11:30
and she had a great turnout. Almost everyone stayed until the end. the only
people to leave early were a couple of people who had work really, really
early in the morning. My wedding is on a Sunday from 7-12 . I guess
I just don't see what the big fuss is over a Sunday wedding, I mean
11 or 12 is really not that late, TAKE MONDAY OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!! that's why
we have sick/personal days
I say go for it if that's what you are thinkingabout!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
I would love a sunday night wedding. That gives me the whole day to get ready and the weekend to get stuff done and get there and then I can enjoy myself and sill be home around midnight. Sounds perfect to me!

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
I'm also having my wedding on a Sunday, and the reception will be over by 11pm. I've been to plenty of weddings on Sundays and always stay till the end, provided I'm having a good time. I'm a night owl anyhow, so going to sleep late doesn't really affect me the next day.I think that most people are used to Sunday weddings, so its not a huge issue any longer.........

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
I'd take off if I could, but if not I'd stay anyway.I've done it for concerts, and gone to work the next day.
However, most of my family wouldn't.
You should ask some people from different age groups.
parents might not stay, b/c they have to take the kids home, or relieve the babysitter, and older people may be tired, even if they aren't working the next day.

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
The best wedding I ever went to was on a Sunday!!!People will have a great time no matter when you have it! :)
Honestly, if you are concerned, would you consider making it a bit earlier? We are getting married on Sunday & I think (we haven't set the exact time yet) we're going to do someting like a 3:30 ceremony, 4:00 cocktail, & 5:00-9:00 reception. That way, if people have to work the next day, it's not such a late night for them. We are going to extend our partying afterwards in another room of our venue for the party people who really want to stay till later that night

Re: Wedding from 6-11 on a Sunday night
thats my wedding time too so I am definetley biased, but I thought that 11:00 wasnt to late expecialy if you dont have to travel far. Many people coming to my wedding already said they are taking off Monday and staying at a local motel even though they live close to make a weekend out of it!
