Question for real estate agents...

or anyone else familiar with selling property.

My mother is selling her co-op. Originally she was going to sell it herself and placed ads in the paper. Since that was going no where quicky, she decided to sign with a realtor but the ad is still online with the newspaper.

If someone answers that listing and ends up buying the apartment, would she still have to pay the realtor?
