Re: POLL: WHO IS BUYING THEIR WEDDING GOWN ON LINE? AND DO YOU HAVE A GOOD SEAMSTRESS??

I ordered my wedding gown from them and it came almost three weeks early (and was almost $300 less than Bridal Reflections).

I also spoke with Sarina who helped me immensely with the color of the beading on the dress and what colors would be good for MOH and what flowers would match.

Nothing but raves from me! I was very happy.

Luckily, my dress almost fits perfect!! I only need a tiny bit hemmed and the bustle done (which my grandmother just told my mom the other day she has done for brides before).

I plan on taking it to Shoreham Bridal where my MOH is getting her dress.

I will say the alteration thing was the only reason I was not sure if I would buy online.

Re: POLL: WHO IS BUYING THEIR WEDDING GOWN ON LINE? AND DO YOU HAVE A GOOD SEAMSTRESS??

A lot of people say bridal salons won't alter a dress you didn't purchase from them. In addition to Shoreham Bridal saying it wasn't a problem, I emailed Bridal Suite in Huntington and they said they would alter as well.

Re: POLL: WHO IS BUYING THEIR WEDDING GOWN ON LINE? AND DO YOU HAVE A GOOD SEAMSTRESS??

I ordered my dress from Bridesave a few weeks ago and was happy with the customer service during the ordering process. From reading all the other rave reviews I have no worries about my dress arriving.

My grandmother's friend is a retired seamstress/dressmaker and will do my alterations and bustle.

I got the BM dress for my sister's wedding at Bridesave. We got it altered at Beautiful Bride in Lynbrook.

Does anyone know a seamstress near the Merrick area??
I have not started looking yet - but the idea of Bridesave sounds great - hope they have my dress on there when I'm ready!!

Re: POLL: WHO IS BUYING THEIR WEDDING GOWN ON LINE? AND DO YOU HAVE A GOOD SEAMSTRESS??

I am actually thinking about buying mine on line. Everyone I talk to thinks I am mental or something they all look at me like I have 3 heads.
My mother is a dressmaker so the alterations are not a problem since she does it for everyone else she better do it for me.

PS: Darly mom is about 15 min from merrick FM me if you want her #

Re: POLL: WHO IS BUYING THEIR WEDDING GOWN ON LINE? AND DO YOU HAVE A GOOD SEAMSTRESS??

I too am toying with this idea.

I admit I am scared to death about it.

I wasn't aware that salons will alter a dress you didn't buy from them. That sort of helps.

This is what scares me the most -- what if (heaven forbid) they mess up totally???? I know that sounds kind of far fetched.. but what would the options be?? Do seamstress' provide some kind of 'disaster' clause?

Thanks!
