Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
The last book I read that I was really, really into that I read whenever I had a free chance was "The Other Boleyn Girl" by Phillippa Gregory. That was a really long book, but I finished it in less than 2 weeks.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I LOVE Harry Potter for REALLY lgith reading.
I also love John irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany"
and Stephen King's "Hearts in Atlantis" (Dont judge it by the movie..the move is 1/4 of the book taken way out of context).
Right now I'm reading "Four Past Midnight" It has "Secret Window, Secret Garden" in it, which is what the Johnny Depp movie is based on. It's 4 novellas. So far I've read "The Langoliers" and "Scret Windwo, Secret Garden" wich were boht really good, and "The Library Policeman is shaping up to be the best of them all"
I also used to religiously read the Vampire Chronicles, but I stopped after Merrick. I was so pissed at what they did to Louis.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I am a huge fan of John Irving The World According to Garp Widow for One Year The Fourth Hand Hotel New Hampshire
I also go for a lot of the James Patterson stuff. Sue Grisham does the alphabet novels, which are quick and easy reads, and good mysteries.
Right now I am reading Positively Fifth Street, it's about the World Series of Poker and how the owner of the casino that holds the tournament was killed by his girlfriend. True story, strange read, but DH recommended it so I am trying it.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I agree with BoogieDownBride! I was absolutely floored by this book, and for the next three months after I read it, all I did was tell everyone how great Dave Eggers was! :) The "not cool" kid part of me loved his rebellios style of writing and the whole underlying anti-yuppie tone of the book was really appealing!

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I love reading and have so much train time to kill that I can recommend many books. *Definately Harry Potter series-so amazing *Americas Women-not a light read but educational *Stupid White Men and Dude Where's My Country *Shopaholic series-theres 3 books and the author just released a new book with different characters called Can You Keep a Secret, it was so funny, definately all quick reads. *Swerve-Random Observations of a Postmodern Girl-very funny
I have read so many but can't think of them.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I just finished MY SISTER'S KEEPER by Jodi Picould. It moved me to tears at the end. (and I rarely cry at the end of a book) It's about a 13 yr old girl who sues her parents for medical emancipation. Her older sister has cancer and the younger one doesn't want to donate her kidney. HIGHLY recommended.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
I want to read the Albom books (Five People, and Morrie). I have Morrie, but I have to put my personal reading on hold because I am volunteering for the Battle of the Books and I have to read some Young Adult books. I want to read Devil Wears Prada and some David Sedaris books.

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
It seems as if you are looking for light Spiritual books, based on your second post. you mentioned you want to have learned something by the time you closed the book.
I feel the exact same way. Here are area few I would highly reccomend:
The Alchemist (My favorite little book ever. Just get it...you will not regret it!)
Anything by Dan Millman (especially The Way of the Peaceful Warrior and 12 Guideposts for Spiritual Living)
The Prophet by Gibran - Just a must own for any spiritual seeker!
I have so many more on my bookshelf at home, let me know what you think, and I can always reccomend more!

Re: Can you suggest a book you read that you LOVED?
Lucky by Alice Sebold Midwives by Chris Bohjalian-great book ANita Shreve's collection is great-a lot of them are selling for very cheap on bn.com If you like SNL, the huge SNL book is entertaining. Secret Life of Bees is good Fast Food Nation-non fiction book that is so informative and jaw dropping.
