This living with my parents thing to save money, just not worth it some days.....

I love my parents. I REALLY do. And they have been nothing but supportive of us when it comes to our wedding and trying to save money and what not, but somedays are just SO hard to deal with living with them. I think had we not lived on our own for a while before hand, we would find it easier to be here with them, but everytime JT and I are having a conversation, discussion or arguement, my mother butts in with some annoying comment. And it seems like we get put in between all of my parents' bickering. I have this week off from work, and ALL I want to do is relax because I normally work very long hours, and my mother has spent the last few days giving me a guilt trip for having some time off. I just really need a break from them, but we have no money to spare to go away for the weekend, and they certainly aren't going anywhere either. Argh! I just needed to vent. Thanks for listening.

How about heading out to a movie? I love the isolation of it when I am in a funk and want to be alone.

Why has she been giving you a guilt for having off? You are entitled. Maybe you should sit down with her and set up some boundaries. Do you & JT have a seperate living area that could be off limits to your parents?

Yeah, we have like a mini suite that they never go into, but we do all hang out a lot. My mother is a great woman, but if you have time off from work when she doesn't, Oh my lord, you'd think you were the devil! We're all teachers, so you'd think everyone would be happy with the time off, but the nature of what she does does not give her all of the same vacations as the rest of us. So I can see why she feels sorry for herself when she is the only one out working while the rest of us are here relaxing, but she can be a bully. I think I'm going to suggest to JT that we go out a couple of nights a week, even just for a drive. Something to get out. Because even though we have a very private section of the house to ourselves, we're all very close and do like to spend time together, it's just sometimes it's TOO much togetherness. I had a vent about my mother a day ago. Ughh I know the feeling, she is aggravating and we don't even live together

I'll be honest - DH gets tons more time off work then I do and I get really jealous And after a few days I get cranky about it

She just hung up on me before because she called to say her last client cancelled so she'd be home early, and I said, 'See? That's a good thing!' And she hung up on me! She's such a BABY! I cannot take her sometimes. ARGH!

I moved in my paretns also, and I know it is tough, get out a bit, son' always stay home with them, it will make a world of difference.
