What are some good places to go gown shopping?

I'm going to start looking for my gown and my Bridesmaid dresses this weekend. Does anybody have any suggestions on where to go?

Re: What are some good places to go gown shopping?

I'm getting my gown at Kleinfeld. The only thing I cna say is to dress up when you go. They judge you when you walk in as far as how expensive a dress to show you, so if you're interested in higher priced dresses, dress the part. It sounds snobby, I guess, but I'm still going there for mine because their selection and knowledge are unparallelled. Their seamstresses are the best and that seals the deal for me. They made my sister's dress fit PERFECTLY and made her a modesty piece to EXACTLY match the beading on her dress. It was really worth it.

For BM dresses, we really had a not so great experience with Carle Place bridal Reflections (see other posts). We also didn't like Flowerama, Sposa Bella, Macy's bridal Salon. David's bridal has a lot of selection, but their material is cheaper. I've heard Lillettesin baldwin is great, but I have no personal experience with them.

I had a horrible experience at David's bridal in Carle place.

I loved RK Bridal in NYC huge selection of dresses to try on. Great prices. Go on a weekday or as soon as they open on a Sat. They get busy fast...

Re: What are some good places to go gown shopping?

I bought my gown at Bridal Reflections in Massapequa. I live much closer to the one in Carle Place, but I liked the attitude and the attention I received in their Massapequa store. It's a tough decision. My suggestion is check out as many as you can. You'll get a good feel of who you want to work with by how they treat you and make you feel when you go in. I went to Here Comes the Bridesmaid for my bm dresses. They had alot to choose from, were wonderful to work with and had good prices. Good Luck.

Check out Valentina's in Brooklyn. If your gown is over $1000, you get a free headpiece, free veil, free alternations and a free slip. Your BMs will get a 10% discount on the ticket price and free alternations.
