Tipping for alterations at the bridal shop?
The seamstress at Lillette's is an angel from heaven abobe! I was on medication that caused me to bloat ALOT at the time of my first fitting. She took out the seams so the dress would fit. When I went back, I lost allthe bloat and she put it back in! She didn't make me feel even slightly bad by the entire episode. I want to show my appreciation but I don't know what is appropriate! Please help!

Maybe a box of candies or a nice Yankee Candle Jar.

Re: Tipping for alterations at the bridal shop?
As probally everyone on here knows by now my mom is a dressmaker. Normally if someone tips her it is cash or even a gift check depending on the cost of the alterations and the amount of work that is done anywhere from $25-$50. Believe me they are thankful anything that they get. Just make sure that you hand it to the seamstress and no one else b/c the other girls sometimes feel it is for them even though they didnt work on the dress and just carried the dress out to you.

Re: Tipping for alterations at the bridal shop?
I never heard of tipping the seamstress. I usually tip everyone but I was not aware of this. Is this true? I have asked many people and everyone said no.
