Rain on the wedding day! Is it REALLY good luck?
Does anyone believe this??? They are forecasting showers for 3/6/04 and I'm not freaking out, just a little sad and hoping for better weather!

My parents had TORRENTIAL Thuenderstorms and they've been happily married for 34 years
They say it is VERY good luck

Supposedly, Rain is lucky because a Wet Knot is more difficult to untie.I still wouldn't want it but I know that your wedding will be beautiful no matter what!

It poured on our wedding day. Really truly a torrential downpour. Everything worked out fine though, I have some cute pics of me with my big boots on under my dress so I wouldn't wreck my wedding shoes. We'll be married 7 years this autumn and we like to say that the rain brought us lots of luck!

I was always told if you can make it through a storm on your wedding day and still have a happy ceremony/reception you can make it through anything together.

Re: Rain on the wedding day! Is it REALLY good luck?
It was rainy and cold our wedding day. I so wanted it to be a beautiful May day, but you know what. It didn't even phase me it was raining at times or even cold. My BP told me
You'll be so excited the day has arrived you won't even notice the weather, unless it's an outdoor wedding...

Re: Rain on the wedding day! Is it REALLY good luck?
It poured the morning of my wedding until about noon. By the time we got to the church, the rain has stopped. By the time we finished the ceremony there was a BEAUTIFUL rainbow across the sky. It was an experience my guests and I will never forget. So, yes, I think rain on the morning of your wedding is REALLY GOOD LUCK
Also, I have to add that the rest of the day was beautiful and we got the most AMAZING pictures because it was not too sunny and the lighting was just right...so, DON'T STRESS ABOUT IT
YOUR DAY WILL BE BEAUTIFUL!It also made the pictures so much better. We have some GREAT candids of me and my bridal party getting into the limo with these huge umbrellas, the girls running with their gowns over their knees and them kicking their shoes off in the moist grass....it really added to my day IMO.

Don't let it get you done.
I think that every bride worries about this but in the end nothing will take away from this special day. My FH and I were talking about this the other day and he had a cute suggestion - if it rains he wants the dj to play a bunch of songs throughout the night about rain. Just to remind ourselves to not take it too seriously.

Also, as to the good luck question (in terms of going forward), I have only been married for four months but, they have been the BEST FOUR MONTHS OF MY LIFE!!! So, I guess it was good luck

Mine too and they've been married for 31 years. And my FIL's had rain as well and have been together for 26 years. I don't think I'd mind the rain.

Re: Rain on the wedding day! Is it REALLY good luck?
Think about it this way...how could it be bad luck? You're still marrying the man of your dreams right? It poured on my wedding day from the second the photographer arrived, until we walked into our wedding night hotel. And it didn't mean a damn thing!!
