i hate my dress - *sigh* updated with pics of fh in his outfit...
well my dress has arrived and from the moment they took it out of the package i hated it - i dont even like the material - now i am incredibly sad .what makes it all worse is fh's outfit which was made for him finally arrived and it is georgeous! ( this of course makes me hate my dress even more)
i was trying to be a good frugal bride and get a low cost dress but now i am miserable - my bridesmaids think i should go with the dress i origionally wanted but it is almost 2,000
i am just frustrated what do you think i should do ?
this is the dress i origionally wanted - opinions needed pleeease

Re: i hate my dress - *sigh*
You still have time to order something else. Put the one you've got on ebay!! You want to be 110% happy on your day but you won't be if you hate your dress!!
Good luck!

Re: i hate my dress - *sigh*
I'm sorry you feel that way. Maybe it would help if we could see the dress you have now.But for the dress you have now - try it on with shoes, makeup, veil/headpiece, etc. It might make a difference.
Good luck!
ETA - could you have your dream dress made? that may be cheaper than the $2000 price tag

Re: i hate my dress - *sigh*
I was going to suggest the same...having that dress replicated....maybe even someone that makes costumes could design it since you're doing a theme wedding. Good Luck...the dress you're in love with is soooo gorgeous!

I LOVE the one you posted. I know this may sound silly but, have you thought about checking out costume rental places? That dress is very Rennisance and it is poosible that you could find something to rent very similar.

Re: i hate my dress - *sigh*
this is the dress i have now as you can see from the catalogue pic - it seems that the overlay is a solid color however from the picture of the actual dress it is little more than a total sheer . i think it makes the underskirt - which should have been soft and is actually that hard satin ( you know the kind that makes sounds when you walk) look really odd.thanks for the suggestions i found a seamstress i am going to talk to that specialized in renaissance clothes - i will be driving to massachusettes to meet her monday

Re: i hate my dress - *sigh*
Amy, I haven't responded to your e-mail yet. But I like both dresses alot, but if you don't like the one you have or are umcomfortable in it, you should definitely explore other options. This is your big day and we only get to do it once (or supposed to anyway
), wear a dress you LOVE!!!

Re: i hate my dress - *sigh*
you defiantely should do what makes you happy...wedding dresses are so difficult, some look some look better on the rack, some look better on the person..
maybe you can have the dress specifically made to the way you want it?

Re: i hate my dress - *sigh*
I think you need to be happy about your dress. I also know how it feels to have a budget. The dress you like is gorgeous. See if you can have one like it made for less or call around and see if you can the dress cheaper (netbride, calling around, etc...) You have plenty of time. I just ordered my dress and my wedding is 2 months before yours. Good luck!!

Re: i hate my dress - *sigh*
I love the picture of your first dress, but soemtoiesm things don't look the same in person. The $$$$ drss is gorgeous too. I've heard of a lot of people not being happy with their dress. Usually alterations can help, but if its the material you don't like, then you might be better trying to get a dress made.Wow- massachusetts- I'm surprised there isn't someone around here.
good luck- don't settle.
