Stretch Marks???
When do they start appearing??? what can u do to avoid them?

I heard nothing can prevent them but things that help are
1 gaining weight at a steady pace
2 Vit E oil
3 Cocco or Shea butter.
I am using both E and Shea butter, E in morning shea at night
Since your due around same time have you gained weight yet, i gained 2 pounds at 8 weeks, one pound each breast....

The nurse told me I gained 6 lbs ..but i think its more like 2-3

My ob told me there's not much to do to avoid them except to try to put on weight gradually. She said although creams and oils will give you a nice soft tummy, it won't make a difference in stretch marks.

I CANNOT believe I didn't get stretch marks. They say it's genetic though, and that nothing can really prevent them.
My mom didn't have them, my sister didnt' have them. what we ALL got are some mean varicose veins.....
There is a product by Mustela that people swear by for stretch marks..but who knows...don't sweat it - there's not much you can do. You're not gonna BELEIVE how much you "stretch"!

So far at 8 months I haven't gotten any. I owe it all to my sister. My mother defiently had a lot of stretch marks but I've been holding my own. My sister makes lip balms and creams and made a special organic belly balm batch for me. I use it religiously in the mornings and not one mark  The belly is actually the best skin area on me right now.
I've gained 23 pounds as of today so I'm sure that is a plus too.

I didn't have stretch marks until around month 9. I almost made it. But, since my belly really popped out a lot, and the baby was soooo heavy/big that my belly couldn't help but stretch. I think my just grew too fast and big in the end. I was all baby in the belly, not fat. But I have a lot of stretch marks unfortunately. But I also gained a lot of weight. Just from giving birth I lost 30 lbs.

Like Melissa, I didn't get stretch marks until the 9th month. I was really upset by this. I think it had to do with the fact that I was always rubbing/itching my belly... everyone told me not to, but I just couldn't help it.
I was all belly too... just seemed to be a bit to heavy. Oh well.
No more bikini's for me...
