Calling all Patken Brides!
i was considering using Patken for our photos because i have heard so many good things about them and I know there are a bunch of patken brides on here and i was just wondering how much you are paying and what you are getting. i have heard one photographer is more expensive than the others(Doug i believe) is he really that much better? how much extra is he? and any pics anyone can post who have used them would be great, thanks.

Re: Calling all Patken Brides!
Doug is $1500 extra (at least that is what it was when I booked)We are using Steve.
Doug's photograph's are amazing. While they say he trains all of his photographer I still thought his work was superb but I just couldn't pay the extra $1500 we are over budget as is.
So keeping my fingers crossed that Steve is as good as everyone says he is.

Re: Calling all Patken Brides!
i think doug has taken alot of engagment shoots so there should be some of his work on here...we're using vinny, steve and vinny seem to be the most popular...
its tough to find out package prices cause its based specifically on what you want...but when your ready to book you can try to bargain with them for extras

Re: Calling all Patken Brides!
I'm using Doug. Two of my cousins and one of my friends used him also...I'm sorry, I don't have any of his photos to show you. You can visit one of their studios and see one of his albums. Doug is the owner...if you check out their website, you can read more about him. He actually teaches photography seminars to up and coming photographers. He's extremely talented and very good at what he does.http://www.patkenphotographer.com

Re: Calling all Patken Brides!
We actually booked them yesterday! Tina was amazing and said that we should go in for an 'engagement session' and I think Doug shoots that....then from there, they decide who would be best to suit your personalities. As of now, we liked Vinnie's style....then Steve's and obviously Doug's. However, we're not sure if we want to spend the $1500 extra. We ordered 3 parent books and a Soho book for us...the total came to a tad over $5000...
but, we feel that it's worth it. I've also heard that if you want more 'revealing' shots, to go with Doug. I hope this helps you!

Re: Calling all Patken Brides!
We booked Doug! I fell in love with his work. Here are some of our engagement pics that he shot. I have more, but they need to be resized.ETS: We chose a 60 pic album-Soho style, 2 parent albums, 3 brag books, plus video..We are paying well over 5K, I believe it will be worth every penny. Flowers die, music ends, food is eaten, but pictures last a lifetime.

Re: Calling all Patken Brides!
We used Steve and to be honest with ya..he takes nice pics,,but go over with him what is important, be specific, I wasnt and Im not thrilled with my pics..I should have given him a list..if you want alot of candids..tell him, I could kick myself for not giving him a list, I had read on here that a list can overwhelm the photograoher, so I just figured hed know what i wanted and I got what I didnt want, too many posed shots, I dont even look like me because its so set..i wanted mostly candids and I didnt get them..its my fault and I regret it!!

Re: Calling all Patken Brides!
We booked Patken. Doug's engagement pix came out awesome. I can't believe how fast he took them. You can't imagine while you are taking them so quick, that they are going to come out so romantic. (If that makes sense) It's weird because you'd don't realize these are the poses your doing. They are also doing our wedding video. I liked the style of of one of them where they go to the bride's house and show her getting ready. I thought that was so nice. I thought that would make you get to relive how you felt that day from beginning to end when you watch the video years from now.
