So confused/disappointed about honeymoon plans! A little long/slight vent

FI and I had always planned to go to Turks and Caicos for our HM. Wanted to stay at beaches..heard it was great, travel agent raved about it..so while i was searching on tripadvisor about going to jamaica for just a few days I decided to look up the beaches in T&C. Half the reviews were horrible and half were wonderful...now we both have BIG doubts. Shouldn't there be more good reviews than bad? Now we are prob not gonna go there and go to SAndals in St. Lucia and/or Antugia. I'm a little disappointed but I would be really upset if we had a bad honeymoon. I;ve only heard good things about St Lucia And Antigua. Any ideas/comments/help?

My girlfriends went to Beaches in T&C and really liked it. They had a few problems with the rooms but they were resolved. Their only complaint was all the kids running around. If you don't mind that, then you should be fine.

We are going to Sandals in St. Lucia and have heard nothing but great things. I am so excited.

I've been to Turks and Caicos but we didn't stay at the beaches. I absolutley loved the island and had the best time. We stayed at a places called Royal West Carribean Resort. It was brand new when we stayed there so we got a great deal on the price of the room.

Did you think about reseraching other palces to stay in Turks if that is where your eally want to go?

I am going to St. Lucia for HM but only ebcause I want to go somewhere I have never been.

no other hotels on T&C are all inclusive..and I heard very expensive to eat..I think going all inclusive to worth it. I am looking forward to going to St. Lucia or Antigua though...I've only heard great things..they were also on our original list of places to investigate

Did you try the Allegro in T & C. I am pretty sure it is all inclusive. We went scuba diving out of there and I thought it was nice. I actually would like to go back and stay there.

thats what we thought we would do..I just don't ant to be disappointed on our HM, actually I already am, becuase I had such high expectations.

But now I am reallylooking forward to St. Lucia/Antigua. I'm on the phone with my travel agent now!

The chat boards that people give their opinions on are just that, their opinions. You might go and love it. I do have to say that all my clients that I have sent have loved it.

Not to talk you out of Beaches but you will probably get warmer weather in St Lucia or Antigua than you will have in Turks and Caicos. Turks will probably only be low 80s or high 70s. Where as St Lucia or Antiugua will be high 80's or maybe even low 90s......

thanks...i think we are going to antigua and st. lucia and we are going to split it up between the two..the resort themselves seem better..i'm excited about going there too..hey is a vaction in december..on the beach in warm weather with all you can eat and drink..how bad could any of it be?

We went to T&C on our honeymoon last april...it was beautiful. We stayed at the Allegro and I also heard it is closing :( They are going to put up condos. There is a clubmed on the island that is all-inclusive. Not sure if it is any good but it is there! Good Luck

I have no info on Beaches T&C, I just want to say that OMG HOTELCALIE your avatar scares the sh!t out of me!! What the hell is that?

That is one reason why I didn't do any all-inclusives because I read the bad reviews on the ones they had in T&C. But also, I hate big resorts, and plus I don't want to be eating at the same restaurant in the resort everyday.

Did you check Ocean Club? They might offer meal add-on plans.

We have decided to do St Lucia for 4 nights and Antigua for 6 nights...I like the the bigger resorts b/c you do get so many resturants. The Sandals in St Lucia you stay at one and can use the facilties of all...there are THREE!

Cool, I was looking at St. Lucia and Antigua too, but the places I wanted to stay at were out of our budget. Glad you found somewhere else to go!

Alright, I don't want anyone to take offense but these are my experiences. My family has a timeshare in Aruba we have traveled most of the carribean as well. My parents went to T&C last year, liked it only problem is Beaches is a family resort, so their could be alot of kids during your HM. They loved the beaches and basically everything there! They also just got back from St. Lucia last week. My FH and I were thinking about going to St Lucia for our HM but my parents weren't that thrilled with the island or the beaches. I was very dishearting b-c we are trying to find alternatives. Everyone has their own opinion and I am sure you will have a great time anywhere but my parents would choice T&C over St.Lucia.
