Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

My sometimes scratches people or I bump it into things..in the beginning when I first got it. I am thinking about getting the settings changed after we get married. The stone is pushed far down as it can go. Am I over reacting..

Here is a pic attached?

I went with a low setting for that reason. I have heard some bad stories about tiffany settings. If it really bothers you , you can have the setting cut down. I know people who have had it done and they have had no problems with it.

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

FI thankfully got me a low setting. It is easier to deal with and I think it looks better.

As for a higher setting:
A girl in my office has a high setting and I think it makes the ring look like it is trying to appear bigger than what it is. That's not exactly the look I go for.

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

I told FH that I didn't want a raised setting because I was afraid of all those things. But he got it anyway cause he thought it looked great and I haven't had any problems with it. I agree--I think it makes the stone look bigger.

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

Mine is high and at first I would bang it around bc I wasn't used to wearing a ring. But I haven't had any problems.

Go to a jeweler and listen to their suggestions on your options.

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

Mine is high, but I like the higher setting... it catches morelight and really makes the diamond shine so nicely......
I did have to get used to it though..... I bumped it a few times when I first got it & kept going back to the jewler to make sure I didn't losen the stone. Eventually I got used to it.

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

I have the same ring as you...but in white gold!!!
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE my ring!!!!
The only thing that bummed me out about it was when I went to get my wedding ring.
I wanted a flat channel ring that had the diamonds set within the band to match the band of the e-ring.
When I tried on the flat regular ring with my e-ring it looked HORRIBLE. I had to get the channel ring with a raised center or as my jeweler call it, a domed top, to match the height of the ring.
So basically, my wedding ring has a slight raise to it to match the height of the e-ring.

Hopefull someone understands what i'm saying!

ETA- here is my ring- but only mine has 6 prongs.

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

I hear ya.

Im getting a small band with diamond set in the band and spread out so they aren't lined up or channel set.

But I have scratched myself with my ring and scratched Jim too!!! I've ripped a set of slacks cause I have a habit of sitting on my hands or putting them between my knees when their cold.

I measured it.. from skin to the top of my ring is 1/4 an inch. Being Marquise cut.. it's SHARP

here's Mine from an angle and looking straight at it. the ring itself is raised!
hehe
Oh and I had nothing to do with my ring choice. Jim picked it out for me. All I wanted was Marquise.

Re: Does anyone feel their e-ring stone is set 2 high up?

My setting is very low (per my request) and it doesn't catch on anything.
A raised setting makes the stone look a lot bigger though so it's a tough decision.
