Just thought I would share these wedding day beauty tips!!
Finding a hair stylist or a make-up artist can be a daunting task to say the least. Some things you should know when meeting with your potential stylist or artist:1. At your initial preview or consultation your artist/stylist should first discuss with you any skin and hair issues you may have. Your make-up artist should check with you to be sure you don't have any allergies to certain products or chemicals.
2. Try to schedule your preview in the morning or early afternoon so you can really see how your hair and make-up holds up for the entire day. You should only need to touch up with powder and lipstick. Also try to schedule your preview on a day where you may be having a dress fitting, a special event, or shopping for veils. Wear a fitted white t-shirt or halter top to get a good idea on how your hair will look with your style dress.
3. BE VOCAL! Don't be shy in discussing what you want. It's YOUR wedding day, Have pictures ready with different styles of hair and make-up, they don't have to come from a bridal magazine. Your stylist/artist should be able to offer ideas and alternatives to suite your look.
4. BE HONEST! about the results. Let him/her now what you like and what you dislike. You want to look and feel like you only better.
5. Check with your make-up artist about purchasing an emergency kit for the day of consisting of the powder and lipstick you'll be wearing.
6. Consider purchasing your veil after you have decided how you would like to wear your hair. You should be choosing your hair style based on you not your veil.
7. ENJOY being pampered! A foreign concept to some. This is a great opportunity for you learn about what brand and type of make-up works for you.
8. Your make-up should look natural to the naked eye and flawless in photographs. Yes, you will need more than you normally wear... but it shouldn't feel or look as if it has been caked on. I always ask my brides how their skin feels when I am done with foundation. It should feel light and natural, not heavy.
9. Your hairstyle should not give you a headache by the end of the day. This could really put a damper on your blissful occasion.
10. Get a massage!
11. Forget what they say about having 'dirty' hair. A Bride wants to feel clean on her wedding day. If you want to wash your hair, you go right ahead. Your stylist will put product in it to make it cooperate.
12. If you haven't been taking wonderful care of yourself, please start now. You will be stressed and elated in the next coming months. You will go through the widest range of emotions, only to be rivaled to pregnancy... if you take care of your body, your mind will have no choice but to follow.
13. Drink a lot of water! It will hydrate your skin, your make-up will wear so much better. Don't start the week before the wedding! Start NOW... 8 to 10 glasses a day. It will also help you burn fat and stay toned.
14. Facials, waxing, and other skin treatments: Please do them at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding. I had a bride last year who had severe burns above and below her brows on her wedding day. We were able to cover them, but, you never know what kind of reaction your skin will have. You can probably save a ton of money by following simple steps at home:
a. SLEEP !!!!
b. WATER !!!!!
c. Wash your make-up off at night.
d. Use a liquid exfoliant, Aveda has a great one in a small bottle for $6.00.
e. Don't try anything new in your routine too close to the wedding.
f. If you must facial.... think about an Oxygen facial. It's non-evasive and refreshing.

Thanks for the tips! I just went to a spa about a month ago, and they used Aveda products. I love them. My face was glowing for about two weeks after the facial.
