Thank yous for gifts received before the wedding....

Do you send a thank you card out immediately after receiving a gift before the wedding or do you wait until after when you send all the other thank yous out??
Now it would be just a generic thank you card and after the wedding it will be a thank you card with our wedding picture in it.

ETA: the gifts we've received so far are from people not attending the wedding.

i've been sending them immediately.
then, if they come to the wedding they get a pic! hehe maybe if they don't come too... don't know yet.

I was just reading an etiquette book in regards to TY ( I was looking for wordings for my shower TYs) and it said that before the wedding, TYs should be sent within two weeks....after within a month. I agree with you though with the fact that after the wedding you will have to photo thank yous. maybe you could call the people who sentgifts already so they know that you got it and then send them a TY after the wedding.
