OctGroom got me thinking, what MOVIES have you seen more than once in the theatres (or wanted to)

I usually don't see a movie more than once, but for a stretch there I was torn in loyalities to friends, so i saw the same movie multiple times.

I normally NEVER pay for a movie twice.

Independence Day (7 times, I hated it at first got better as I saw it more)

Men in Black (5 times, friends kept thinking it would cheer me up)

Star Wars: New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi (3 times, first all by themselves each, then twice as marathons)

Star Wars: Phantom Menace (3 times, this was odd, once in Texas, once in Florida, once in Pennsylvania)

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones (2 times)

Im sure there's been a few others.. Usually the big Sci-Fi major production gigs. When my friends wanted to see it and so did I but scheduling met I had to see it more than once.

Saw Men IN black Twice, now that you mentioned it.


I saw Shrek 3 times

and Pirates of the Caribbean 4 times!

The only movie I've ever seen more than once in the theater is Wayne's World. I saw it 3 times! I expected to hate it the first time I saw it, and I loved it! It's still one of my favorites...

When I was younger, I saw Grease like 10 times in the movies. I had a theater around the corner from me.

My FI wanted to see Spiderman two times so that I saw that twice.

So did I! Saw Grease more times in the movies than I care to admit But that was back in the days when you weren't able to run out and rent the movie a few months after it was released..

I saw The Sixth Sense 2 times in the movies.. I wanted to see my ex-boyfriend's reaction to the 'twist' at the end.

I saw Dirty Dancing 3x (I think .. maybe more)

I would've seen Lord of the Rings: Return of the King more than once in the movies, but FH just didn't want to sit through it a 2nd time! (even though he loved it) I LOVED that movie and wanted to see it one more time on the big screen.

OH yeah I saw Contact (Jodie Foster) twice, or was it called First Contact.

Anyway.. the first time I saw it there was an idiot smoking in a theatre (not mine) that set off the fire alarms.. stopped the movie. Strange cause it was at the part where they first try using the machine and lights were flashing in the theatre so I thought it was a cool part of the show, until the lights went up and the screen went dark.

Some people paniced and ran out but I was ticked off. It was a 10pm show and it was getting late and I REALLY wanted to see this movie, so I stuck around.

Found out it was a false alarm, got a free ticket and went back to the see the rest of the movie. Lost like a 30 of time and 5 mins of the movie.

Got out close to midnight. It was an odd night. 3 guys who had seen me stick around, sat next to me for the rest of the movie and took me out to dinner after the movie. Ended up being harmless but not my type so I left them after dessert.

I used to see movies A LOT by myself. Never thought a guy would actually HIT on me at a movie theatre tho! haha


Later on I saw it again.. complete without interruptions!

Cool as Ice (I was a huge Vanilla Ice fan)

I believe I saw Purple Rain twelve times!!!!!


And I'm guessing all the John Hughes movies multiple times. I had kept a list when I was in HS of all the movies I saw those 4 years ... wonder if I have it hiding away someplace.

I think Romancing The Stone more than once too. It'll all be movies from 82-86.

I never go to the movies anymore ... (and obviously it's been that way for a while!!)



I just remembered - I saw AP The Spy Who Shagged Me with FH and then I brought my mom to see it.


And I wish I had gone to see ELF more than once.

When I was younger, I would live in the theaters and would check out good movies more than once. My all-time would be The Outsiders which I saw 9 times on different occasions.

I saw Return of the Jedi 6.5 times.
I saw Indiana Jones and the temple of doom 4 times.
I saw Witness 2 times.
(My mom was a bit of a Harrison Ford fan when I was small.)
As I got older I saw
Titanic 4 times.
Austin Powers Spy who shagged me 2 times.

The only three I've seen in the theater more than once are Rocky Horror, Ferris Bueller, and Dead Man (Jim Jarmusch movie with Johnny Depp).

Gladiator!!!!
I didn't see it until late in the release and then went to see it 6 more times in the theater.

Pirates of the Caribbean, twice in the theater and then I bought the DVD.

E.T. I saw it three times in the theater, cried every time. When it came out on DVD I bought it and didn't cry at all.

Edited to say: Rocky Horror - I have no idea how many times I have seen that in the theater.

For some reason I saw the Fugitive twice in the theater - and each time by myself.

The original Star Wars movies I saw countless times when they came back a couple of years ago.
Jurrasic Park-twice
Titanic-twice

i saw the blair witch project about 4 or 5 times in the theater and titanic twice.
