Did you get a diamond certification card when you/he bought/got your engagement ring? Need to know about this. Thanks.
Are you suppose to get this certification?
Yes i got a CIA card & had it appraised again for insurance policy

Get it appraised and see if you overpaid. Do it soon so you can take it up with the jeweler if there is a problem.
i would actually suggest getting it appraised prior to purchase the stone. any REPUTABLE jeweler would send the diamond out for and independent review prior to the customer paying in full.
if not, have them state (in writing) that if the appraisal deviates significantly from the in-house stats, the jeweler excepts responsibility and all monies rendered will be reinbursed.
