How do you ladies feel about VENDORS reading the BHB board??

I know of at least 3 LIW vendors who have admitted to reading our board and posts... I know its annoying when they post on here but how do you feel about them reading all of ' our drama' as one vendor put it to me ??

Re: How do you ladies feel about VENDORS reading the BHB board??

i encourage it!

as long as i am not contacted, i think it's good that they get a better understanding of what their clients want and need. smart vendors do this all the time!

Re: How do you ladies feel about VENDORS reading the BHB board??

I like it. First, if we have critisism about a company they should take the advice and improve their flaws. Second, if we say good things, they should know we are happy with that aspect and continue with it.

I agree with you ladies - the only thing I dont like is them laughing at how 'Stupid' our 'drama' is.

Re: How do you ladies feel about VENDORS reading the BHB board??

I actually had a vendor FM me last week when I was complaining about my hall!!! 'With flowers and candles, you can work magic....'

I never responded. I actually think its funny to tell you the truth.

Re: How do you ladies feel about VENDORS reading the BHB board??

I am not a fan, especially when they FM me!! There is one exception to that about a vendor who read one of my posts and e-mailed me something personal- not like a sales thing.

ETA, overall it doesn't bother me too much. The problem is I think people tend to censor themselves more.

Re: How do you ladies feel about VENDORS reading the BHB board??

Personally, I dont care what they do, but if one of my vendors contacted me because of something I said on here, more than likely I would cancel them.

See that's the problem. I asked for a dj recommendation from the brides about a week ago. Low and behold I receive the FIFTH FM from a dj that I have told in the past to stop harrassing me. Just from this post I expect another FM from him. I dont mind them reading it, but dont peddle your wears when we didnt ask!!!

I say the same thing. There going to read them whether we like it or not. I actually went to my hall and the Banquet manager said he was flattered by my comment on here and threw in a 'surprise' for us. Read away!! Don't contact me though because then I will get nasty!!!!! If they are my vendor then fine, I want you to know what I want but if you're not...go away!!! If I need you, I will ask for you!

Re: How do you ladies feel about VENDORS reading the BHB board??

This is the internet. You post and people read. No biggie to me.

Taken out of context our 'drama' is pretty funny. It is to be expected.

I have NEVER received vendor reply about our posts except one who has the odd problem of NOT being mentioned much at all on these boards, even though they do business with lots of brides here.

That's why I stuck with the low profile vendors. I don't need extra 'drama' thanks.

My Vendor Critia: One event-just mine, good prices, fair, honest and decently ranged, professional, NO BS about how my day is the best just gimme the facts and least flexible.

Just think.. even the vendor officiants can read our stuff! LOL

Re: How do you ladies feel about VENDORS reading the BHB board??

Double edge sword.
It is good that venders get to see what people think about them

BUT it does make them contact you unnecessarily...

I had a problem with a vender here and trying to get in touch with him..
It wasn't until i said something here..did he call me back.
this rubbed me the wrong way

I didn't mind until one vendor assumed that one of my posts was referring to their business and started grief...

Re: How do you ladies feel about VENDORS reading the BHB board??

I agree it's a double-edged sword. It's good because they get to see what brides really want and are looking for and they can tailor themselves accordingly. But it's also bad because it causes people to censor themselves and causes posts to be censored, deleted, pulled, and locked. I don't really care what they think of our drama... I do care when it's so bad and they are SO into our posts that they get jealous of the attention another vendor gets to the point of lying about them.... I've seen it happen and it's scary because then you start to wonder who is real on here and who isn't!

I agree.
We all have to remember that its a public board... so that is why FM may be a good idea at times.

I never thought much of it until I was FMed by a vendor. That was kind of annoying.
