My most evil and wicked POLL to date (yeah right).... Do you believe in revenge?
Do you believe in an eye for an eye?Or do you turn the other cheek?
Would you take revenge if you were hurt by..
1.) A Family member or VERY close friend.
2.) An acquaintance.
3.) A complete stranger.
OR -- does none of this matter to you one way or the other.....
Think about it...........
I'll give my answer.. simply put... hatred and anger breeds hatred and anger.. and there's waaaaay too much of that in the world today and not enough love and forgiveness.

I try to see 'the reason' behind everything...I once said as sick as it sounds that if someone hurt someone I loved, I would be sad but I could never HATE that person....there was a reason, be it mental illness, regular illness, etc....We cannot judge or take power in our own hands...the world is an unfortunate place and while revenge is so much fun in the mind, planned out and dreamed up...in reality it's just like you said perpetuating the same thing we were upset over.....

I believe what goes around comes around...And that even though my initial reaction would be anger and the desire to hurt others that have hurt me...
In the end i believe that they will get theirs one way or another..And i don't have to be the one who intentially does the pay back!

without a doubt what comes around goes around..Id like to say I leave it all up to Karma..but Im guilty of wanting revenge, jiust have never acted on it....but I have never had anything happen to a family member ( Thank GOD)..so I cant say what I would do if something DID happen...I would hope I would let karma take its course..

When I've been hurt, the thought passes through my mind, but I don't take action. I normally believe in what goes around, comes around. In terms of Justice and Legal Recourse....eye for an eye baby....death penalty all the way. I have personal reason for this that hits too close to home....

Let me try to be honest here...for the most part when I'm hurt my first reaction is true red hot anger and I'd like nothing more than to hurt the person back. But as I grow up I've learned to calm myself. I completely agree that what goes around comes around - I've seen how real that is. I came across a quote:'Live well - it's the greatest revenge.'
I love that and I find it to be very true - so I try that. Now seems to me that quite honestly if I'm going to say that then yes - I'm still looking for revenge but not at the eye for eye level. KWIM?

Exactly what I was going to say. You'd be surprised how well that works.

Other was my vote. It totally depends on the person and my relationship with that person. But mainly I give the cold shoulder when I get mad. You know the 'looks'
and the little comments under my breath until the person comes at me again... then its all over!

If I felt that someone I trusted really wronged me I would sever that relationship. 'With friends like that, who needs enemies.' I don't take being disrespected very well. I don't set out for revenge, but DO NOT expect me to be nice to that person ever again.Welcome New Vendors
