What is the average commission a real estate AGENT makes on a home sale.

Out of curiosity

I know real estate agencies charge like 6 or 7 % commission (average), but does anyone know what's the average commission the real estate salesperson makes?

From what I understand each real estate agent gets a % and then the office that they work for gets a percent. Not sure of the exact break down but a 6% commission might be broken down to 2 real Esate agents and 2 agencys.

It use to be 6% with it getting split at 3% for each office. Now it seems like it's 4% with 2% going to each office. From that 2% the agent themselves will get 1% and their office gets 1%. That's the general rule of thumb.
