Girls with Strapless gowns (or anyone): Corsets...??

...or just a bra

I wanted a cute sexy corset.. but I want it to suck in my tummy a bit and give me leaner lines in my dress so it lays flat.

I've been browsing and the really nice onces are upwards of $250!!!

What are you guys doing?

Re: Girls with Strapless gowns (or anyone): Corsets...??

I may just buy a bra. My dress has a corset built in.

Where did you look?

sew it in?
Do you have to buy it separately or was it part of 'alterations'?

I've been searching the web.. google mostly.. went in about 12 sites last night.

Re: Girls with Strapless gowns (or anyone): Corsets...??

I originally wanted to have sups sewn in, butI don't think that's going to bean option since I'm kinda busty but I hate the way a corset feels. My dress also has a corset effect because it laces up the back...Im at a loss as to what I'm going to do. I think I'll ask the bridal salon at my first fitting!

Re: Girls with Strapless gowns (or anyone): Corsets...??

Did you try www.barenecessities.com ? I've used them before for a Flexees shaping slip thing. they have some more traditional corsets too. they are not cheap, bit not $250. More in the $50 $100 range, I think.

The lnik abov eis to teh hoem page, but they also have a Bridal boutique.

At the bridal salon, they gave me a 'brasellette' to try on. It was a long line bra with boning, I think it zipped up the back.
I don't know how much $ it was, but I didn't buy it b/c it wasn't exactly the right size.

I am going to wait untill closer to my fitting, but I am going to try to find something like that.

VS Corset

I bought this one and one similar in Macys for about the same price to wear with my dress. The Macy's one fit much better and stayed in place better - not sure why. I had no intention on wearing a corset - I planned on wearing only a strapless bra. I brought only strapless for my first fitting and found I was popping out too much esp if I lifted my arms. I found corsets held my boobs in place better (and I am not big at all). My dress was pretty fitted so I needed seamless and the Macy's corset was a great option!

well the corset i had on at the salon, had boning in it and it drove me insane!!! lol...so i'm hoping to get the one diamondgirlie posted...i'm huge body by victoria fan.....and that looks like a corset by victoria....gives me great cleavage, and oo so comfy....
so thats' what i'm leaning towards...

as far as stiching the corset to the dress, thats what my bridal consultant told me...i've never heard of such a thing, but it made sense...shes like how many times did you see a bride move around and her boobs go to further right then the dress does when shes dancing...at thats true...but I want my dress to be vvveeery fitted in the chest and waist so it wont budge.....

Re: Girls with Strapless gowns (or anyone): Corsets...??

I wore a corset that I got at Orchard Corset in Manhattan for around $50. Here's the website:

http://www.orchardcorset.com/

There is a lot of different styles and it is very reasonable.

Re: Girls with Strapless gowns (or anyone): Corsets...??

I wore a long line corset under my gown. I bought it at the store I bought my dress. I don't think it was so expensive- but it really slimmed down my middle nicely and was comfortable.
