Re: can someone explain babylon/westbabylon/northbabylon and Deer park???

I live in Bayshore, borderline DeerPark, West Islip and North Babylon.
The area of Bayshore that I live in is the brentwood school district, so you have to be careful when looking.....

Re: can someone explain babylon/westbabylon/northbabylon and Deer park???

The division lines can be soo weird.
You mentioned that North Babylon is between Wyandanch and Bay Shore. And youre right, but there are also sections that are next to West Babylon instead of Wyandach and West Islip instead of Bay Shore.

I think it really comes down to the particular niche of the neighborhood you are in - not b/c there are only small good areas but b/c there are only small bad areas.

If you are looking at a particular home and would like specific info about the area, please feel free to FM.

I think they can all be great places to live!
Good luck in your search!

Re: can someone explain babylon/westbabylon/northbabylon and Deer park???

Personally, I don't think any of the areas are that great, but they're not terrible, with the exception of Babylon. Babylon's very nice especially by the water. WB is not bad but I don't think the school district is that great (but not terrible). NB and Deer Park have some nice areas but you have to be careful and the North Babylon SD is not a good district. If there is a particular area you're interested in let me know. I grew up in the area and my parents still live there. There are better places to live but there are definitely worse places to live!

I live in West Islip, and I know that part of North Babylon touches to West Islip.

Re: can someone explain babylon/westbabylon/northbabylon and Deer park???

the area of Bayshore that I live in is not bad at all-I have 2 children and we feel very safe, the only downfall is that the section that I live in goes to B'Wood schools-but to be honest-Bayshore schools arent much better...
If your interested in bayshore-you can FM me about the location and I'll help you as best as I can.

My aunt lives in north babylon to the south-east of the park and that is a nice area. Also North Babylon East of Deer Park Avenue is really nice. West Babylon off of 109 right to the south of Sunrise is also a nice area of West Babylon.

Re: can someone explain babylon/westbabylon/northbabylon and Deer park??? updated

I grew up in north babylon on the deer park border. It is still a fine area. There are parts of NB that are nicer than others. Generally speaking the area northwest of the parkway borders wyandanch and is considered 'not so good'. North and West Babylon are pretty much the same as far as the schools go. I went to NB schools and I think I turned out ok:)...but to be honest I didn't consider the high school to be so great....at the time I was there there were a lot of problems(fighting). I have heard it is a lot better now and from the looks of it they have improved the building, fields etc.
Babylon is a much smaller (and better) school district. Babylon villiage is adorable and would be a lovley place to live.

We really love it there! The neighborhood is soo nice! We are very happy there!
