I would get my hair done and do my makeup myslef... either that or go to macy's or someplace that will do a trial for free

eta. I guess it depends on the person.. I have some friend who do their own hair and it looks great! It dosent really come out right when someone else does it... as for myself... I cant even blow dry my hair the right way!!

It depends how fancy of a party you are having! For my party I did my own hair and makeup. My avatar is a picture from my e-party.

You could get it done and use this as a pre-trial. I'm not saying to get the same hair and makeup you would for your wedding but then at least you'd know if you would like to use that person again if it comes out nice. I didn't get mine done for our e-party bc I didn't have the money.

I had my hair and makeup done for my engagement party and used that as my trial.

I got my hair done but I did my own makeup. It all depends on how fancy the party is...like Julz said :)
