where to BUY a tux?
FH needs to buy a tux for our wedding, since we are doing a destination wedding then a reception when we get back -- we figure its better to buy it, than have to rent it for 3 weeks - month.
Any suggestions for where to go in the Manhattan area?

my FH bought his at giorgio armani in manhattan, his was made to measure, but they have them right there on the rack also
My brother and father are going to try bloomingdales, marshs (in huntington)
I think buying it is so worth it! especially b/c a classic tuxedo is always in style!!
doesnt it suck that they can wear it more than once? i wish i could wear my wedding gown more than once!!

It does suck that he can wear it more than once! I am lucky in that I AM wearing my dress twice -- so cool!!! We have a black tie wedding one month before our wedding and i don't want FH wearing his wedding tuxedo to it!! So he'll probably rent one for that.

Bloomingdales, but you should try to hit it when there is sale. DH got his there....wanted a certain designer...and got it during a sale for 25% off. Not bad!

check out Victor Talbots in Greenvale on Glen Cove Road. I also have seen them sell tuxes at Off 5th in the source mall.

Does it have to be in Manhattan? (I don't know if you're ever out on Long Island)
Marsh's in Huntington has some nice tuxedos and they have excellent customer service.

I second Bloomingdales. FH had bought his tux there as well. They have a nice selection and prices are reasonable.
We had gone to Victor Talbots, their tuxes are awesome but wanted $$$$ for it  I have to admit they do have a gorgeous vest for him to wear. He may go back to Victor Talbots to purchase just the vest.

They vary greatly.
Mens Warehouse has them for around $800 (Jones New York, etc.)
The higher-end stores will range between $2k to $5k (Canali, Armani, etc.)
