Believe me, the more time I spend on the computer, the more I realize that I know very little. We'll help each other. It is lots of fun though and extremely informative. You'll soon see that this site is amazingly easy to navigate and extremely well organized. I started off on Martha Stewart's boards and this one just blows it away.

Welcome!!!! This does get very addicting. I have a son getting married in October, and my daughter is getting married next June. I have gotten alot of help from these boards.

Wow, two weddings in one year. That's as bad as having to kids in college at the same time. My daughter was out of school a year after she became engaged. Just as you begin to see some light at the end of the tunnel, they spring a wedding on you. I'm not complaining just trying to stay out of the poor house, LOL.

At least it is all good things. I thought I had planned it so well, one kid started college after the other finished. They're 4 years apart. My son is only 24 but going with his fiance 5 years. My daughter is 28, couldn't expect her to wait. I'm thrilled! I love this wedding planning stuff!

I agree with you, these are happy times. As for the planning, my daughter has done it all. Everything from soup to nuts is on Long Island and my husband and I live in CT. That makes it difficult to do any planning. That's okay with us. Nothing is done without our final say. There are times when Rachel gets a bit frazzled, but that's when Mom comes to the rescue. Congrat's to both your kids!

Thanks! To you too. I have both kids local, so I tend to get involved, my kids probably wish I lived in another state. My daughter is in the city and my son still lives at home.

Hi Ladies,
I hope you both had a great 4th of July week-end.

I'm sure your daughter e-mails you pictures and ideas constantly. Is she your only child? I know what you mean about college. We did it four times. I just married off my second one and two to go - both maybe this year also. Grand total for the year may be three.

My daughter moved back home for the year before her wedding and we did it all together. Talk about frazzled. I think she was the worse! By the end I wished her then-fiance good luck - that she was all his. LOL! I talk big. Now they only live minutes away but they're moving to the city at the end of the month. Married 6 weeks, I miss her and the wedding planning tremendously.

My youngest son is getting married this Nov. My role is night and day different. That wedding will be in Jersey besides, so it was predictable. My oldest son is hinting at a wedding soon too. He'll be coming for dinner tonight alone for a change, so I'll see what I can find out.

Please tell us about your gown. I'm just starting my search for my son's. It looks like more lace gowns are coming out.
Sandi, please remind me. You ordered that black one from Filly's for your son's? What about your daughter's? Did you decide on anything definite yet? I'm sorry, I know we went over it all before.

BTW: I'm a huge Yankee fan, especially Jeter!. I loved the bandaid on his chin.

The moms on this board are wonderful and so helpful. A great place for us moms to vent, get to know eachother and to talk about our children. The brides are funny, helpful, good listeners, and sensitive. You'll enjoy this place. I know I DO.

My son was just married this past Sunday, the 4th. It was wonderful. I now have 116 days untill my daughters October 31st wedding. My kids have a plan for me, they want to see who is going to give my the big heart attack first.

Hi Mary,
Yes, I ordered the black one for my sons and also a beige lace overlayed gold one for my daughters. I told them I didn't need it yet, and figures, it came in already. It came in all wrong so they are remaking it. I wanted to buy the sample, which was perfect for me and they insisted on making a fresh one.

Sandi, it's beautiful. I love the back. It is very becoming. I remember you telling me now - you said you ordered it from the trunk show at Filly's, right? Why did it come in wrong? Was it the size or the style? Remember while we were there that day, a woman had a problem with her gown when it arrived. She said she wanted it to look like the sample but it was wrong. Shucks...we never found out what the problem was.
Did the black one come in yet? I'd love to see pictures of that also. Do I need to ask about shoes? Stuart Weitzman has some beautiful styles. Guess that's what you'll wear.

What are you doing to help with your son's wedding? Are you doing placecards, menus, programs, or are they for your daughter's?
