When do you start trying on gowns??
My wedding is now 11 months away and I am not sure when I should start going out and trying on dresses. I am looking on line and in the magazines but I have yet to step foot into a bridal store.

Re: When do you start trying on gowns??
Yikes, I'd go ASAP. An employee at RK Bridal told me it can take months just for the dress to arrive in the store.

Don't worry - I'm less than 9 months away and really just started. I got lucky and found it early on but I dont' plan on ordering until the end of July, which is about 8 mos before my wedding. Go when you're comfortable.

Re: When do you start trying on gowns??
I started looking at dresses right around 10 months. I went to lots of places and tried on lots of dresses. Take your time. If you are ordering a dress they may want you to give them 6 to 9 months prior to the date. But most of all have fun!

Re: When do you start trying on gowns??
The first time I went dress shopping was at the end of Feb. We had only booked the hall and church a couple of week before that and the first place I went to said that I would need to order order it no later then the middle of March, thats about 9 months before my date. They say it can take about 8 months to come in. I ordered it in March and its expected in late August or Setember.

Re: When do you start trying on gowns??
Dont stress - just make an appointment and go - its fun - i recently ordered mine begining on june - so i guess about 7 months - my dress takes 4 months to come in. Find out which designer you like and then find out how long it takes for the dress to come in - some designers take longer than that.
