Re: When do people stop saying 'you have SO MUCH TIME'
You don't have so much time. I had a two year engagement. People ALWAYS said that to me...so, finally I started to believe them and I stopped planning for about a year. And, guess what. I ended up being REALLY behind. And, there ended up being things that I never did get to take care of...
keep plugging along!!!

YOU DO NOT have so much time - They are NUTS!!! I started booking in March for 4/30/05 and 1st my church was booked so we are using my FH's and 2nd the band I really wanted was booked. Now I'm wondering what other obstacles I'll run into... Keep planning and get to all those details that you may have missed out on if you wated!!!

Hi, count me in as president of the recipients of the YOU HAVE SO MUCH TIME comments
Um, do people REALIZE how much there is to do and think about? Well, when they try to plan their wedding last minute and get stressed out, I hope they remember me and my SO MUCH TIME and the fact that I'm cool as a cuccumber with my planning. So let's hear it for SO MUCH TIME

Re: When do people stop saying 'you have SO MUCH TIME'
A lot of people especially my mother's family, brother and mother's extended family constantly nagged me about 'you have SOO MUCH time' until 1 month before our wedding date. I was so sick and disgusted with this comment as from a bride's point of view and planning perspective I had very little time. I hate procrastation and I am one of those who gets things done early to get it over with to move onwards to other tasks. We had 1 1/2 years (18 months) engagement/planning period which was short. Guests will NEVER understand how much work is involved in the planning/organzing process or the amount of work/effort either as they just enjoy the big day never see the big picture. As my mother's narrow-minded critical extended family kept nagging me with the 'you have so much time' comment I kept on planning working hard and ignoring their pointless narrow-minded comments. Just keep the planning process moving as time flies fast with a blink of an eye.

Re: When do people stop saying 'you have SO MUCH TIME'
They just can't think of anything better to say. You know when they stop saying it? About 3 mos before your wedding. People were STILL telling ME I had 'so much time' until about a week ago. NOW all of a sudden it's 'Wow, it's only 3 mos away, I hope you have everything DONE!' Well at THEIR pace -- telling me also at 8 mos that I had SO MUCH time -- I would have NEVER had everything done by now and I STILL DON'T event though 4 mos ago, THEY thought I still had 'so much time'.....

Everyone told me i had 'So Much Time' and I 'took a year off'. Now it looks like I am so behind. Everyone here has everything, I have nothing done, at all...Now, All I am left with is ANXIETY!!!!

Re: When do people stop saying 'you have SO MUCH TIME'
I got this ALL the time from one of the owners of my company - granted his wedding was planned in about 3 months so it really was a foreign concept to him.

Re: When do people stop saying 'you have SO MUCH TIME'
I also had a 2 year engagement and heard the same thing. Do not listen to them, otherwise you will not get #1 choice of who and what you want, if someone says this to you, and is nasty about it ... do not use them. We are so glad we planned the way we did- In the end we were still running around at the last minute. Good luck with all of your planning.

Re: When do people stop saying 'you have SO MUCH TIME'
UGH! I hated that. My boss was always saying that to me when I was telling her about the vendors I was booking (with less than a year to go). Since we moved the wedding up abruptly, I swea almost every day, she was like, 'Did you book a place yet? Did you get someone for your hair and makeup yet? Blah blah blah,' like the Inquisition! When I told her last week that I need Tuesday off because I just have too much to do, she said, 'What could you possibly have left to do?'OMG! All the little details I didn't attend to (like making placecards, getting a purse, etc.) because I was too busy rearranging my life.

Re: When do people stop saying 'you have SO MUCH TIME'
People tell me the same thing (we have the same day!) and it aggrivates the heck out of me.I can either do things now, at my leisure, or wait four months and run around like an *** during Christmas season. Uh, hello, I'm busy enough then!!!
People think I'm crazy that I ordered my invites already... Know what? I'd rather not be shopping, baking, wrapping presents, write out Xmas cards and stuffing my invitations in the same week.
My best friend is getting married in Nov. and I'm the MOH - makes things a little busier. I should wait, and book things when I have less time and life is a little more crazy, just so I can turn into a major b*tch and take it out on all the stupid people around me.
(Rough day, sorry, if I sound so hostile... Maybe I should call the Chinese take-out place now...)

Re: When do people stop saying 'you have SO MUCH TIME'
I'm just under 3 months way from the wedding and I'm still hearing, 'you have so much time.' Who are they kidding?! There's still tons of little details to be taken care of as well as going to work, fixing up our house and attempting to have some kind fo normal life. In terms of free time, I feel like I only have a week until the wedding.Welcome New Vendors
