Making Place Cards, or ordering them?? Any ideas?

Hello Ladies!

I am dreading making the place cards and am curious if anyone has any tips or ideas on making them? Or is it better to send them out to be printed?

Please let me know your ideas.

Re: Making Place Cards, or ordering them?? Any ideas?

My daughter and I made place cards similar to these for her wedding.

cute place cards

They were a lot of work but everyone loved how they came out. We used a light black, almost faded look, for the number and a dark black for the names. With the help of one of the girls here, we got the font that matched the invitations and made matching menus and church programs. If you have the time, help, and some computer skills, I say go for it. Again, it is lots of work so start early. You don't need to know where everyone will sit but you can prepare the names and numbers whenever.

PS. I just saw your wedding is in two weeks. Yikes...order them! Sorry.

I am probably ordering these (with a black bow) and then having the calligrapher do them.

My mom and I are making our place cards. I'm searching for templates for printing, so I'll let you know if I find anything.

Same here! I had an appt. with Laura from LA Productions this past weekend, and ended up choosing all the more time consuming options for escort cards and the ceremony programs b/c everything needs to be 'just so.' When the paper that I ordered comes in, I'm going to have my work cut out for me! Oh well!

Re: Making Place Cards, or ordering them?? Any ideas?

I just purchased place cards from Staples and I'm going to run it through the printer. It has a pretty easy template on UPrint.com. I also brought my wedding programs to do on the computer. The template is also from UPrint.com and is easy to follow, I just have to get my program stuff in order.

Re: Making Place Cards, or ordering them?? Any ideas?

I am in the middle of making mine, right now. I cut yellow & orange cardstock, and handwrote all the anmes and tables on in a red/pink pen, then I am attaching them to round mesh tea infusers, so they stand up. The only thing is that the tea infusers won['t be here until next THURSDAY.

I am so annoying to the guy at the restaurant supply store that he actually gave me the copy of the order and the UPS tracking info so I will stop calling him!
