Wyndham Wind Watch woes...
more problems...so the other day i posted my guests were getting mixed messages while attempting to book, now this:
one of the many reasons we booked WWW is the ability to hold a rehearsal dinner in their restaurant. attempting to arrange this dinner i get this from the manager:
'The Restaurant will be closing downstairs on Friday's and Saturday's so it will be relocated to the lounge area which is on the lobby level. The lounge area is not large enough to host a party seated all together for possibly 30 people. If you still wish to have the outside space, the back up space will be in a function room.'
a FUNCTION room? like a for a conference? no freaking way! and they want $40 a head for this
so, does anyone know of good restaurants in the Melville area?

Re: Wyndham Wind Watch woes...
Melville to me is more of a business area - so there are a ton of restaurants there, but what about booking someplace a bit quainter... like Red or that Blue Honu in Huntington.

I agree Pasta Cucina is a great restaurant, we had a private gathering there a little over a year ago. The private room is nice, the food is good, and if I remember correctly for about the same amount of people (30-ish) the pricing was 35/head.

Sort of off-topic...but my guests stayed at the Wyndham WW. They were absolutely a NIGHTMARE with booking! Guests were told higher rates, that the place was sold out, etc....all incorrect. The worst was that one of my guests was given a roomkey to a room that was already assigned to another hotel guest. They are incompetent. Good Luck!!

Oy, such a hassel...I'm sorry. But so far I have had almost no problems with them, no complaints from any of my OOT guests (so far about 45 rooms booked) . We are having the brunch there the next day for about 100 people, I have not had any issues.

Re: Wyndham Wind Watch woes...
thanks for the ideas girls...i got another email today that totally confused me and i will have to call them tomorrow. the person we are dealing with brought up the fact that i was disappointed with the setup to her manager and suggested the restaurant stay open for the friday in question... i didn't quite understand from the note whether it will or will not be, and at this rate i am a little weary booking with them now anyway...
i REALLY hope my guests are being charged the correct rate. actually i know 2 guests that got a better rate using their AAA cards (a few bucks, but hey, why not)...
