New law regarding limos...anyone heard?

New law regarding limos...anyone heard?

My sister just told me that a girl she works with went to book limos and the person there told her that as of January 1, 2005 a new law goes into effect banning SUV type limos or limos that can hold a certain amount of people (18 maybe) or more. Apparently, he said that with that many people it is techinically considered a bus and would therefore need emergency exits/hatches, which they do not have.

This is the first I heard this but we have a 20-something passenger Hummer. I am going to call the limo company tomorrow and find out if this is true. That would suck

Has anyone else heard this?

I really wouldnt worry too much about this. Most new models come with DOT required hatches and 'pop out' window. Just ask if their limos are DOT licensed. If not, run for the hills!!!
