Anyone do both table names and numbers?
I like the ideas of names but don't want to confuse our guests. What if we did:
1
Love
2
Devotion
3
Friendship
etc.

I don't see why not. I plan on using both # & names. I'm going to print out the names in a bold color, and the # in the background, in a shaded color. What do you think of doing that?

Re: Anyone do both table names and numbers?
I went to a wedding Friday in CT. and they used numbers and names. It was a beach theme and they had a table with sand dollars with our names on them with only the table numbers (instead of using just cards - I thought that was great!) Then, in a frame on the table was the number from your sand dollar and name of the town your table was actually from - it was really cute, but I think I was the only one who noticed there were names of towns... most people just looked for the numbers, so the fact that the bride went to the trouble of using town names was over looked.

I'm planning on putting the guests names with the table #, but once they get there, they'll see that the tables have been named.
ETA: I thought that the names might be overlooked, too (I never miss it, though), but that's why I decided to doing the above pic. It can't be missed.
