did the post office hand-stamp your invites?
I dropped off all my invites this morning at the post office on 38th street and the BEYOND GHETTO license-plate making employee stated very rudely that she 'ain't gonna waste time hand-stamping them now' and started piling them on the bookshelf near her desk that was FILLED WITH PAPERS!!!!! They all started sliding off onto each other, it was a mess!So I said,' I am not leaving here until I see them go in that mail bin!!' So she got pissed off and wrapped them in large bunches held with rubber bands and put them in the bin.
So now, I wonder if they will put them thru the machine, and if they do, are they gonna get funked up? The envelope is really stiff with all the stuff inside so i wonder if it would even go thru the machine.
I mailed one to myself, so I guess I'll find out soon enough..... * gulp*

I had my hand-stamped at the Hicksville Post Office. They also didn't stamp them in front of me, promised me they would, and they did! Needless to say, I too was scared that they were lying. I'm sure everything will be okay!

That happened to me as well. I took mine to the post office in Franklin Square. She said nicely that she couldn't do it now and put them off to the side to do later. She did do it for me.

Same here. The male clerk said he'd get to it before he left, and I already heard a couple of people received their invites, and it was hand-stamped. I wouldn't worry too much... though, I know sometimes those ghetto lazy people will just pass off work as if they didn't know. Hopefully, all will be ok with them.

Re: did the post office hand-stamp your invites?
Yea, if I sent them by email...

Waiting IS horrible, but I think it's worse when you mail on Friday, because you have to wait the whole weekend. Don't be surprised if you get a call tomorrow from people who've received them already, though.

Re: did the post office hand-stamp your invites?
I was worried that they would give me an attitude about had stamping them, but the post lady in Center Moriches was more than happy to do it. She was such a sweetheart.I sent them out last Monday and people got them on Tuesday and get 3 RSVPs on Wednesday.
